Can't see this just anywhere. Must visit! Kids loved seeing the Elk and couldn't believe how big they were and how close up they came to the fence.
We are locals. You can get up close and personal with the wildlife without crowds. Our visitors did enjoy the wildlife. Easy to find just drive right up. Bring your leased dogs.
We go to this location every year for the past 15 years and this time we didn't see any elk such a disappointment. We went to the two viewing locations and no elk. Disappointed.
Stop by and view the Elks and their young ones. At feeding time it is easy to view them right from the road and in your car. It is a easy quick fun thing to do with little children or anyone who has never seen Elk up close.
Very neat to see live elk in the city. Free. Fun for all ages. Close up viewing available but not guaranteed.
can get very close to the elk. were able to see two of the males butting heads. Saw some other animals that appeared to be either deer or antelope but without binoculars were unable to get a good view. Also saw some wild turkeys as well.
Visited here just this afternoon. As another review said, it is a little difficult to find. All you have to do is find the Elks ( believe it, or not! ) Lodge building, and there you are! We were there at about 2:00 in the afternoon. There is a feeding area up near the fence, and it appeared that they had just been fed. There were many feeding, and some just laying down, near where the feeding was going on. There were a few cars there. One review said to make sure to stay in your car, so they wouldn't be scared away from the fence. Everyone did stay in their car, and the elk acted as if nobody was around. We even saw a small flock of turkeys there too. We'll be going back next time we're in Gaylord!
How cool to have this elk park right in the city. You can feed them and watch them very up close..Unusual entertainment
up close and personal ....and no cost ez to get to off old US 27 north off exit 279 go about 2 miles north on the east/ right side look for elk viewing signs.... lots of elk....
The elk were eating hay when we arrived, so we were able to see many males & females. We got some nice pics. It was a cold snap September evening so we couldn't stay very long. On a future trip to the area, I would like to return to the park. The park was easy to find & not far from the interstate.
