Stumbled upon a wonderful Japanese festival while walking the grounds at the weekend. Our first of many visits to your wonderful facility.
The place to be in the summer heat( we don't get it very often!) and right in the middle of my favourite place in Glasgow- the West End. Sometimes you will also find Art works displayed on the railings outside .
very nice place to visit. lots to see & do, very interesting information to take on board & well kept gardens, grounds etc, kibble palace is very interesting & well tendered, has loads of information on display, have been several times & loved every visit, also has tea room, snack bar & outside public toilets, highly recommended for a visit.
A surprisingly great find at the north end of Byre's Road. Well kept and yet feeling as if it has never changed since it was built!
Overall, the botanic gardens are quite beautiful (and warm) and have a variety of biospheres and climates and plants that are worth seeing. The botanic gardens are a nice respite from the lack of open green space in downtown Glasgow. They are large and spacious and have plenty of large trees and plants and are organized geographically. The labels for the trees and plants could be slightly more professional and helpful since many were laminated and attached to random branches. But the Kibble Palace is much newer and well designed. It is beautiful inside and has many variety of flowers from tropical ones like orchids to desert cacti etc. Well worth your time!
went here for the electric light show, which was very well attended. exactly the same show as there had been at crathes castle before christmas but easier to walk round as there are laid out paths here
After a walk round the great gardens this iis a super way to end the afternoon. The garden is one of Glasgow's premiere outings for visitors and residents alike. The tea room is so convenient, quite and in harmony with the surrounding gardens it should not be missed.
This place never changes, have you been away a while? Take a stroll around and it all comes back to you, the school trips being shown the exotic hot house flowers by some dullard teacher you couldn't really have cared less. However now, you can see the beauty ad appreciate the environment you are in that has been preserved so well and never dates. You are not a true Glaswegian if you have never been here to stroll around, it is free as well so look at the greenery of Glasgow and smile with pride it's ours.
Queued for ages even although there were lots of empty tables and no one waiting to be seated. Waitress who seated us was less than pleasant. Gave us no choice of where we could sit. Was left so long waiting for someone to take order we just got up and walked out.
