Excellent service - waiters, greeters, table runners, are all members of the cast, which is really cool. Very friendly, and helpful. Food was quickly served after being ordered. Limited menu choices for those looking for healthier options - menu available on web site. Talented performers - actors, actresses, musicians all quite talentedClean facility
This brewery district gem knocks it out of the park with every performance. The house band is fabulous, backing up some really great vocal work. The comedy sketches are original and fresh.Best part is the price. You can't get better entertainment cheaper.
I am sure that am probably in the minority regarding my experience at Shadowbox Live based on other reviews. The introduction, show and other parts of the experience were frankly “crass.” It could be that I’m just not into the type of approach and humor used at the Shadowbox Live. I think the actors and singers had a lot of talent but the writing stunk. I think the content of the show was inappropriate for something I wanted to spend my money and time being involved in. Here are a few tips if you are new to the Shadowbox Live that can help you out: 1) arrive early and go to the box office window and get your spot in line. They will do this by the number you receive at check-in; 2) if you arrive early, try to stay out of the tables unless you are coming or dinner or you will likely feel a little pressured to order something while you’re waiting. They offer food outside of the dinner theatre and inside as well. You will need to “cash out” outside and re-open a tab on the inside; 3) if you are dining, it’s ok – you can finish because once they call your number you can go pick a table and they will hold it for you – or just wait and order at the table on the inside; 4) if you tell your server that this is your first time to the Shadowbox, be prepared that they will screen throughout the night “Hey everybody, we have a virgin at this table.” It’s kind of funny (not really) the first time – not so much after that. The food was good.
We were in town for a surprise party which was at The Shadowbox. Not sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised and had the best time! All of the actors/musicians also wait on your table for food/drinks, so we got to meet one of them as we ordered food, and she was so great about telling us all about the theater. You get your food/drinks, then the first part of the show, which is like a SNL type scenario--they had an awesome band/singers, and then they do a few skits, and then back to the band/singers. It flowed really great and we were cracking up! During intermission, the actors came back to see if you needed any more food/drinks, then the rest of the show. I have seriously never laughed so hard in my life at some of the skits, they were hilarious! We had the best time, and wished I lived closer so I could go there more!
We have seen several shows at Shadowbox. Edgy comedy skits and great music. Good food and drink. 1st timers get special attention.
We frequent the Shadowbox. The live band, BillWho, rocks it out. The sketches can be of adult nature as can the language, this is not for the closed minded, rather a great time relatively inexpensive and it the best few hours you'll spend with either your special one, or with a group since the tables seat 8. Parking was good, seating was comfortable. Get their early to get your # from the box office for the best seating preferences.
I went on November 9 and didn't know what to expect. I was captivated! Whether you are an arts aficionado or not, you will find this to be a totally original, unique experience. They take works of art from the Columbus Museum of Art and explain their meanings though original music and dance. This show would make a bundle of money in New York. The sometimes stunning audio-visual graphics are worth the trip alone as they examine the art in minute detail. You don't have to be "artsy-fartsy" to enjoy it. This show will touch your heart and provoke your intellect. It's a great night out.
Shadowbox Live is known for its Unique performance-arts venue & cafe staging rock musicals & sketch comedies in daytime & evening. We have been to many of their performances and love the "Saturday Nite Live" type of comedy in their sketches. They offer unique food - always good- but the fun part is that the wait staff is made up of the performers. We LOVE the music of the Bill Who? Band during all their performances. For New Year's Eve we danced to the Bill Who Band from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Non-stop rockin' to all genre but must mostly rock. Before the band starts, there is a fabulous buffet of delicious foods including prime rib; cranberry stuffed chicken, bacon wrapped chestnuts and fabulous desserts. You get party hats and beads and at midnight champagne to toast in the new year. This was our second year going to Shadowbox for New Years and it will be our tradition for as long as they offer it and as long as we can get to the dance floor.
We came to the Shadowbox on Saturday to see Sex at the Box. We have enjoyed every one of the sketch comedies we have seen. The staff are friendly and very organized. The shows are laugh out loud funny. I would recommend the Shadowbox to anyone with a good sense of humor.
High quality show for low price, also great beer. Very good place to go with friends to hang out and gave a good time. Mix of music and comedy
