Dirty, disgusting. You do not want to pollute your image of Glenwood Springs with what you will encounter here. Period
Some time ago, this used to be fun, a little hot pool away from any crowds. It was never scenic, but entertaining and relaxing. Now it is a dump; broken glass, discarded clothes and other debris. People use it as a bathing tub complete with soap scum. Disgusting.Save your dignity and maybe your wallet and go elsewhere
Nice place in the off season. The locals will hang out and and visit.. safe place just off the beaten path. Be respectful of the area and the locals and pull as far off the old road as possible as trucks do run that road often..
Its more like homeless springs. But it was amusing to see. It is literally broken up concrete and rocks with a tube of hot water running from highway. Not worth the effort, go to the hot springs pool.
We had a hard time finding the hot spring but once we did we enjoyed the short hike to get to it. Beautiful surroundings. It was very private since it was off the beaten path, and we were the only ones there when we went. It was pretty small, and the rocks and logs along the edges were covered with algae, but the water was hot and felt nice. It was an interesting experience and we're glad we took the time to find it and check it out. This place is not for everyone, but if you're feeling adventurous check it out!
You'll get the cops on your butt if u go down there now. No trespassing. Plus there's lots of garbage down there from the bums who didn't die off last winter from the cold. Glass will cut ur feet and u might step on a used consom! Don't go down there...
We live just a few miles from here so its not a big deal to make the drive to make sure we will have it to ourselves, which is definitely the only way to experience this place. It is Neanderthal compared to Glenwood Hot Springs, but natural, beautiful and FREE!
I visited the Hippy Hotsprings lodge back in August 2014 and it was a great visit. They have several different Hot pools to jump in, that range in different Temperatures. They also have a plunge pool to cool off if you get to HOT! The rooms have heat but no air conditioner or T.V. Very rustic hippy atmosphere. Certain times of the year the rules change and they are clothing optional for the more "opened" minded of the guest, so def be warned, lol it's a very relaxing way to ease your mind during your trip. Def would recommend to anyone.
natural, more or less. this is not the run off from the glenwood hot spring...the hot springs go Colorado Department of Transportation to close this...the hot spring simple want the money. Very interesting the cop will prosecute, but the do not prosecute for the homeless that live under the bridges!!! penny hot spings is 1/2 way between carbondale and redstone is good too. if you stuck up type, spend the (way too much) money and go to the Glenwood Hot Spring and get a disabled (so it will not bounce much) diving board. Glenwood Hot Springs...way too much $$$. Go to the Glenwood Recreation Center and same a lot of $$$...then you and your kids will not stink for days after you go swimming.
well it was very hard to find. first of its on the north bank of the river and from talking to the locals the twon out lawed going in because they want u to pay for the springs lame right and if you r going to go there i would go at night harder to be spoted
