We sat outside and watched the fishing boats unload. We ordered a Fish Sandwich and Chicken Quesadilla. Both were good. My husband had a few beers but they do not have a liquor license so no cocktails. Service was very friendly and prompt. Would go again
Fresh seafood straight off the dock with fresh brewed beer. And great local atmosphere! would visit there again.
This is a nice place to have lunch and their beers are really good! I was only able to have two and try a third, but they were all wonderful. That imperial pumpkin stout is great. Wish I had a growler of that!
Cape Ann Brewing is located right in the center of the coastal city of Gloucester and has both a restaurant and bar all in one. The seating is both inside and outside and they brew all kinds of different beers of various styles and offer some pretty decent food as well.Parking was easy to find as they are adjacent to a giant, public lot but there's also numerous street parking spots in the area as well. We didn't struggle to find any on a sunny, Saturday afternoon. Upon walking in we found the place to be bustling with activity both inside and out. We decided to go for outdoor seating as their patio overlooks the Atlantic ocean and there was a live band playing outside. While very loud (a little too loud), it was still pretty awesome to have live music there. We decided to order 2 flights of their beers. There's six samples in each flight and they had 12 beers on the menu so we were able to cover them all in two flights which was great. Not all of their beers are great but a few do standout including their Ironclad IPA which features a mix of summit, cascade and chinook hops giving it a great, West coast-style, grapefruit aroma. Others weren't so great but most we pretty good and very fresh and cold - hard to beat really! The food we had was pretty basic but good - being allergic to seafood and fish we settled on sharing some buffalo chicken tenders which tasted good. A lot of people around us did seem to enjoy their seafood though and they do offer quite a bit of it. You can order up some fried calamari ($11), or P.E.I. mussels ($10). There's also clam chowder, fish tacos ($12), burgers ($9) and various other dishes like stuffed pork loin ($17) and chicken piccata ($16).The service was great, and the place was clean, including the bathroom. It was a good experience there, but it did leave me wanting for a tad more in terms of their menu. They have great, fresh cold beer, but I was hoping they'd have a better selection of shareable appetizers. Oh and I also want to know why the hell they'd be serving a pumpkin stout in their samplers in the middle of summer? That's an October/November beer not a summer one. I found that a bit odd...
I was the only one not drinking the beer. There were 9 of us& 8 of them got a flight of beer, so they were able to taste all of the beers offered. They were a hit. The food was delish. Blue crab sandwich was good. I had fish taco, very good. Fish and chips were good. I would suggest sitting outside. We go to Rockport every July and have to visit the brewing company each year.
We made a brief stop here on the Taste Gloucester tour and were impressed with the beers. I've never had a pumpkin stout before so I was pleasantly surprised. The food portion we received was much larger than I would have expected and was much better than I was expecting as well for a brewery. Best calamari I've had in a while and the view from the back of the brewery is right on the water. I probably watched the fisherman off load the fish I was about to eat when I got there!
Second trip there. Its just really good. Casual atmosphere w long wood benches to encourage bonding at table. A well versed beer selection that changes often . And the seafood Mac n cheese is really great and sized for sharing. Staff both times we have been there were effective and knew the beer selections well. Not fancy, but I encourage you to try this place if you enjoy good beer and hearty food.
We Enron on a Saturday and got right in at the bar. It was busy but the bartender gave us quick service. We were right by the kitchen and it was nice to see the guy running the kitchen jumping on the servers for letting the food sit. He wanted it out as soon as it hit the window. I really enjoyed all the beers. The IPA was amazing. Great place.
I've been on a ton of whale watches with my family and every single time I have to go to Cape Ann Brewing Company and get a table sitting outside overlooking the harbor. Life is good! I love their food and my daughters Maya and Paige love it too! I've got some really great pictures of them with the Marina in the background. Two thumbs up... but I wish I could be all thumbs so I could give them more!
Great pub, but does look more interesting and promissing from the outside. Not really cosy, but good enough for a night out.Nice beer assortiment. Would go there again.
