A lovely spot in Gozo, Go look and take pictures and if the sea is not rough take the 15 minutes boat ride and see it from the sea.
Being a regular visitor to the island of gozo I hire a boat from time to time and this is one of our regular anchor spots for a swim .nice large bay with water access from shore too and great for a swim or picnic
Fascinating to see not only the Azure Window but Fungus and Crocodile Rock too. Taking a boat from the Inland See let us see the view from the 'back' of the Azure Window, the rock structures were amazing. The boat man pointed out shapes on and in the rocks and showed us coral beneath the water line. €4 well spent. Choppy boat trip though.
We came here to get a glimpse of the Azure Window and take a little boat ride in the Inland Sea to see the Gozo Blue Grotto (not to be confused with the one in Zurrieq on Malta). It was fantastic. My oldest boy loved being on the boat and going through the little cave out into the sea, exploring the little caves. Even though the day was a little hazy, the water was an unreal shade of cobalt blue, and the coral and algae made beautiful purple-green stripes on the rocks. We also got a great up close view of the Azure Window, and could see Fungus Rock. After the boat ride we walked a bit on the cliffs that overlooked Azure Window for some more great views. There are also some stalls selling various wares - clothes, scarves, Gozo glass, postcards, etc. I would have liked to spend more time there, but we had to get back on the bus.
Some local traders and souvenirs at the end of the road, as well as a gift shop.Lots of divers and small boats to go and view the cliffs and caves and amazing red coral. The waters are the most amazing blue. For €4 they will take you out in a boat - lasts 10-15 mins.
A must see place when in Gozo. Whole area is amazing with inland sea and Azure Window. Easy to reach by bus or car. Boat trip under Az.Window for some 3 EUR. You can buy some food/drinks there.
What a great place to see the sun set you will not be disappointed Amateur of fossil will be amazed by the amount and the diversity you will see It is just the perfect day out
Impressive and beautiful scenery. Perfect for pictures! When on Gozo it is a must see. Even off peak many tourists were around, so I can image it too be a bit overrun in summer. But beautiful none the less.
Absolutely must if you are visiting gozo. We have seen it in February during very windy conditions and it was amazing. Hope to come back one day during summer time
The Dwejra Bay is the area around the Azure Window, the Cliffs of Dwejra and the Fungus Rock, a fabulous natural area which makes every visitor feel so small. Be careful as you are walking on the rocks, as they are very abrasive and can be the risk of accidents.
