This place has great service and our food was very good. It was recommended by shopkeepers on the Square. This place isn't very long on atmosphere or decor. But maybe that's just me.
We stopped here on our way to our destination at the Hideaway Ranch for a local eats place. The food was well done and the atmosphere was very quaint and casual. Perfect for a beer garden. The hamburger was juicy and homeade from scratch. Absolutely delicious paired with their homeade fries. Don't miss this stop if you passing through Glen Rose!
I kid you not when I tell you grandma was in the back making pie. After eating an amazing green chili and cheddar cheese burger that was one of the best I have had in a while the sweet waitress asked us if we wanted any pie. We declined but she told us her grandmother had just finished making pies and they were still warm. So we decided to have one slice with four forks. It was absolutely delicious with warm chocolate filling on a thin flakey crust that did not overpower the inside and a two inch high meringue on the top. OMG! This was better than my moms and that says a lot! Yummy with a capital Y!
This is a "dumpy" little pub type place, but the burgers are great! I had the cheddar/chile burger and it was so good! After you take the first bite and the juices run down your arm you know it's a good burger, don't put it down, keep it in the paper and continue eating! The meat was so flavorful and the chiles and cheddar added even more flavor. First time I tried this type of burger and loved it! Husband had, burger with guacamole and is was just as good. French fries were on the soggy side, so only ate a couple. The burger was enough by itself.
The AC wasn't broken - they don't have one! The wine selection on the evening we visited was limited to one white. No reds, or blushes, just one white. Oh by the way, they only had two plastic glasses of it left. The server was attentive and apologetic that the reviews had indicated they had a selection of Texas wines. The burger was tasty but hard to enjoy in the heat! Skip this place unless it's cool outside and you're only drinking beer.
Their burger even beats Grump's...which is really hard to do! I love the bleu cheese burger- the portabella burger is awesome, too. We love the patio area- very cute. Everyone who works there is very sweet! TheyWe look forward to going anytime we're out in Granbury/Glen Rose area.
We had a wonderful time, it was very hot, but other than that it was lots of fun. Nice place to be able to go with the family, enjoy music and a drink, and just relax. All the staff was wonderful.. We had a sweet waitress that took great care of us. We will for sure be back.
The Green Pickle is just what Glen Rose needed! The interior is reminiscent of a pub with a laid back, comfortable yet fun atmosphere. But what really makes it is the outdoor seating with antique metal tables and chairs, a stage for the live music, and lights strung between the amazing canopy of the pecan trees. Ice cold specialty beers and great music also make this place special. I highly recommend a trip to Glen Rose from the metroplex just to visit this place! It's only 1 1/2 hours from Dallas and barely an hour from Fort Worth.
Good burgers, little on the greasy side but very good old fashioned burgers.
Wonderful, Friendly Staff! Great tasting food and quick service. The Beer is really Cold.*** "This is My kind of Place!I urge eveyone to try it.**** Live Music every Friday & Saturday nights.
