We went to the museum in the middle of Gray Line's Denver Mountain's Park. The drive to the museum is itself a attraction, with great scenary. The view of Denver's dowtown skyline and the table mountain is beautiful. The museum is big enough for us to get acquainted with the amazing Buffalo Bill's story. The gift shop is full of good options os souveniers. The drive going back is also very nice.
It's interesting if you have heard stories of Buffalo Bill .. Otherwise it's just a site were someone famous is buried
I had no idea what a big deal Buffalo Bill was near the turn of the century. It was a well organized place with clear, easy to follow information. Very good value at $5 per adult. Really cheap for kids.
The drive up the mountain and the neat restaurant up top is the draw. The grave site is a joke. SORRY.
We stopped off on our way from along to the airport. It's really close to the i70 so easy to get to. Good museum, only $5 am adult, has a short movie about buffalo bills life and lots of artifacts.Great views over Denver.
I had been taking friends and family up here for years without ever paying to go into the museum. I finally did and it is totally worth the price. Their exhibits are amazing. I really fell in love with the story of Buffalo Bill after going through the museum. Their gift shop is absolutely fun. They have a lot of great crap for you to waste money on. I would have given this a 5 star rating if it wasn't for some worker in the gift shop snapping at us for picking up items we were interested in buying. Otherwise I highly recommend everyone take the fun drive up Lookout Mountain to come up. It's free to see the grave and the beautiful views.
The view is great but don't go up on a Monday because the museum is closed. The gift shop is large and they have a great little place to get a root beer float. My teen had to have two.
It is a bit of a drive off the path to get to the grave and once you get there it is pretty much a gift shop and...a grave. But the view is beautiful and it is worth the journey if you have the time.
I agree with the comments about the view. Yes, there is a gift shop, but if you take the time to walk through the museum (yes there is a charge for the museum, but not for the grave site) it provides some interesting history about Buffalo Bill. If you have time take the trip up to the grave site, do it.
This was an interesting visit when we were returning from the Bison Outlook at Genesee Park. There are some interesting tidbits of information about Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley and some interesting looking ammunition in a display cabinet. There is a short walk to Buffalo Bill's grave and there is a wonderful view of Golden from above on Lookout Mountain. There are also large Black Squirrels in the area. This is part of Denver Parks and Recreation.
