There only good words to describe the place.Great costumer service, nice ambiance, good drinks and unique location.A piece of history, a family business , a place to meet new friends or just to hung out and enjoy the moment.Great experience, important point of my trip.
If you're looking for the rare and off the track this is the place.Pot Belly stove in winter, wooden floors. The ONLY free standing TIN building in the U.S.Great staff, fun friendly people. Not the usual place when you think of Las Vegas. If you want your butt kissed this is not for you.
My son led us here as a Fallout fan. It was a sleepy day, but he enjoyed being in the atmosphere. We visited the local cemetery, bought a brick, had a shot. Bring a sharpie. We'll be back for that keg party.....
Down a long desert highway...this oasis shows up called the Pioneer Saloon! It is everything you want out of an old western saloon, history, atmosphere, attitude, and great beer selection to boot. I never miss a chance when coming out to Vegas to make a stop at my favorite bar in the whole wide world. Did I mention it is Haunted?
We stopped on our way home from Vegas. We would really like to come back for the Haunted lockdown. They lock you inside from midnight to 4 am. Awesome for people who enjoy ghost attractions. Great place to stop.
If you're looking for a real old time western bar... in the desert, away from the crowds... this is the place to come! This Saloon is over 100 yrs. old. It is full of history and memorabilia from the past. Clark Gable was a regular here and his wife Betty Grable was killed in a plane crash, not too far from there on the mountain. Stories say, the Saloon is haunted... The saloon itself is small, just a few tables and seats at the bar. I believe for most part, it has been kept in it's original condition. Smoking is allowed, so when you walk in... expect cigarette smoke to hit you in the face. However, you can go next door to the diner area and it is smoke free. They do offer a small lunch menu. I would recommend one of the burgers. I had the chicken nachos and would not recommend. They also sell t-shirts and some souvenirs here as well.On the tv screens they played many programs about the Saloon's history which I found it to be very interesting. If you want something to do for an hour or two... go visit a piece of history! They also have a commemorative wall outside...celebrating the Saloon's existence for the past 100 years.... For $100, you can buy a brick and have your name engraved on the wall that stands outside the saloon... You too will become a part of history! There is also a time capsule that will be opened in the next 100 yrs.... will be interesting the families who participated to see what was put inside before it was sealed!Noel, the owner is a very nice man. His son and grand daughter were both at the diner and offered fine hospitality.
Visited this saloon while using trails nearby. Historic establishment connected with Clark Gable. Known to be reserved for celebrity parties. Stop for lunch & try the root beer on draft!
After reading all the excellent reviews on tripadvisor we planned to visit it from our vacation in Las Vegas. We loved the way to the saloon and ongoing to Sandy Valley. I m sorry to say that the saloon and the adjoining shop are just a bit too touristic for our likings. We had a drink on the patio between the buildings, it as nicely shaded and we saw the garden on the right side of the saloon and that is all there is to say for me.
Ya, I had researched the Pioneer Saloon to death, pardon the pun, and decided to make the rental car trip out to Goodsprings. And after minutes of getting there, I lost that big expectation and was... oh well. I seen it. The buildings were cool and exciting to see at first, but then look around the rest of the place and was, again....ya, been there done that feeling. It could be the Saloon full of "biker type, were at one time people", driving the Nissan out front people and the room was, (cut it with a knife), cigar smoke. The history and presence inside the Saloon was great and glad I was there. I wanted to talk to the Saloon Keeper, but he was too immersed with his bar room full, chit chatting. He did point out the museum, or rather the next room with the history artifacts in there. That and the rest of it, just ruined the experience for me. I planned lunch there after reading the menu on the website before I made the trip, but just decided not to, due to the lack of any welcome from anyone there.I think I had expected more than I saw and left soon after getting there, rather disappointed.
I visited the Goodspring Pioneer Saloon as part of a ghost tour out of Las Vegas. I found it very disappointing because the saloon was open, a live performer was playing tunes, there were patrons at the bar and specifically, the goof at the bar saying "Boo" to everyone on the tour as we walked by. There was some sort of Sag and Doe party in the back patio, completely spoiled the atmosphere there. The rest of the tour was kind of ok. People still live in this "Ghost Town". Pics from my phone did not turn out though. I didn't bother taking any more!
