We visited campus and vet school which is truly world class and by chance were told to view gardensGreat walk and if a student in great weather I'd study here
The Arboretum offers well marked walking trails with varied & interesting geography. Some of it is overgrown and needs attention to broken branches, etc. There is lots of parking.
University of Guelph has established a detailed and well laid out collection of trees mostly indigenous to Southern Ontario and the lower Great Lakes region. The trees and plantings are well labelled and the walkways are clean and clear including a variety of habitats from marsh and swamp, pine groves and hardwood forests. parking is free and easily accessible from College Ave and Victoria Rd. A great spot to take a leisurely stroll on a spring day
It is a little gem in the middle of town, there is no cost and well maintained. I don't seem to be alone, there always seems to be a few people enjoying a walk but never too crowded
Beautiful, peaceful and totally free. What more could be asked for? Tucked in behind the university, you can walk through the woods, or the specific gardens. There are lots of places to venture off the beaten path, but if mobility is a concern (or, if you're with young kids/pushing a stroller), there are still many worthwhile places you can go.
Have held numerous meeting and events here. The site staff are always helpful, The catering people can work on a budget and menu selections that really bring it all together. They are willing to be creative together.
What a lovely spot to walk and enjoy an afternoon. Have to like that it is free..nice trails...nice gardens a beautiful spot ..have been here many times and we will return:-)
Guelph's Aboretum up at the university is worth a visit or two or three. Walking here is like being in the bush in the country, and the paths are intricate and well worth investigating. There are toilets on the premises, and plenty of parking areas. This is an amazing natural location smack dab in the city. It is also close to the university campus so you can head down there afterwards to a pub or for a walk among the students.
Wonderful area for a casual walk, hike, or even to go jogging. Amazingly diverse variety of flora. A beautiful spot any time of year.
The UoG Arboretum is the perfect place for people of all ages to explore and learn. There are beautiful gardens and trails perfect for bikers, dog-walkers, birders and runners alike. The perfect place for a picnic. Be sure to check out the workshops that are offered throughout the year through the Arboretum Center!
