You are sure to find a wine you will like! The staff was great. There is a small tasting fee (which is normal in my opinion) There was live music the weekend we visited. Absolutely perfect day!
My family and I have been to several events here, even though the winery is about 45 minutes away from our home in Savannah--to me, it's definitely worth the drive out there, and really easy to find. Set in the midst of a wooded area, surrounded by trees, with a duck pond, long driveway, outdoor picnicking spot and lots of delicious wines to try, you really shouldn't miss it! Get on their email list or check their Facebook page for monthly events! We like to go best around Valentines Day or in the autumn when the woods look so lovely, and I always take a long walk around the property, go say 'hello' to the ducks in the pond, and take plenty of photos. Their gift shop includes some really incredible gourmet delights--not a huge variety, but everything is so good! I especially like the dip mixes and the horseradish cheese. They are famous for their sweet Blackberry and the sweet Peach wines, which are not made of grapes, but fermented from the actual fruit! They also have a short tour of the winery, and sometimes hold wine-tasting events where the owner gives you info on how wine is made, what wine to have with which foods, etc. which are informative, fun and tasty! There is also the Soup and Wine Day, the Valentine's Day special, and --my favorite!--Customer Appreciation Day! Definitely take the time to shop and taste and look, and take a nice walk around the property. The owners are friendly, knowledgeable and will hlelp you with any choices of wine for your own home or for gifts!
We spent a few hours here, the ladies were very informative, friendly, and the wines are incredible. My husband and I prefer sweeter wines, and they have an extensive offering, all very reasonably price between $9 - $15, with nice discounts by the case. Highly recommend!
My husband and I traveled to Savannah from FL, we looked for places to visit, this was the only winery that wasn't far from savannah, we decided to try it. we did not leave disappointed, They have a fabulous selection of fruit wines. Prices were great and the people were all so friendly. The wine maker was there and present, you can tell they take great pride in their product. As they should, we bought 4 bottles, I wish we would have purchased more. Thanks to everyone at Butterducks winery, we will visit again!
We discovered Butterducks as soon as we moved here 3 years ago and have been going there every Friday afternoon since then! We enjoy meeting friends there on the weekend, taking a picnic with us, purchasing a bottle or two of our favorite wine and spending the afternoon relaxing outside. The owners and staff are knowledgeable and welcoming and did I mention how amazing their wines are?
My husband and I love to visit small local wineries. Butterducks is wonderful! The owners were very friendly. They have many sweet fruit wines (which we love) along with some amazing semi-sweets and semi-sets. We will definitely come back the next time we're in this area!
My husband and I were in Charleston and planned a day trip to Savannah. We found out about this winery and thought, why not? The couple that owns it are very genuine people and they have some great wines too! We bought a case. We highly recommend taking a little bit of time to visit.
My fiancé and I went here to see what it was, as we had tried some of their wine downtown savannah. It was a very nice quaint place. All the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. The owner even did the wine tasting which is always nice to see them interacting with customers. Prices of wine tasting and wine bottles were also very reasonable. We were shocked when we saw what we were charged. Nice place to sit outside and have a glass of wine and cheese plate. Definitely would go back again!
It took us a little time and effort to find this gem, but once there we had a lovely wine tasting. Their Butterduck white was excellent as well as the Viogner. The team in the winery was pleasant and knowledgable. The tasting price was very reasonable and we had a lovely visit. The wines were reasonably priced and if you like the sweeter fruit based wines, they have a selection to please as well. Enjoy!
This place is friendly, charming, and has great wine to boot. I like the dry blueberry best.Yummy!
