Although the park itself is lovely and clean, we will NEVER go to the pool again. We witnessed a drowning and the lifeguards did not know what to do. There was a nurse as a patron and she performed CPR. It took 25 minutes for EMT's to get there, because the station is far, then we had to wait for helicopter. It was chaos. Besides that, although the pool is large and has waterslides, it is usually PACKED with nasty people from other areas on bus tours.
In the need of a good hike after a long ride in the car? This is the place if you are in the area. Summertime, there is a pool and kayak rental. There is also a great camp ground....just pure fun!
My wife and I would go to codorus to walk around and relax. It is such a nice relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoy going there.
This is a great state park and very under utilized during the week...which means it's also very pleasant. Nicely kept trails and pavilions. I kayak on Lake Marburg and take advantage of keeping my kayak on site for a reasonable fee. There are kayaking wildlife tours on Wed and Fris at 6 pm and sunday morning at 8 a.m. Great fun and all of the equipment is supplied. Great picnic areas...well worth a visit. Mostly free--camping and kayaking have fees if you are part of a group.
Codorus is a nice free state park with a variety of activities. There are plenty of hiking trails, a huge disc golf section, and plenty of places to get your kayaks in the water. There are not a ton of bathroom facilities around which is one of my biggest complaints about the park. We live very close and are usually just are there for short periods of time but could see that could be a problem if you were traveling and planning on spending the day.
Such a great nature preserve and park. Love visiting and walking the trails or just sitting by the lake! Great picnic spots!
For the best views go to the section of the park near the marina. Their is a building on the hill with a round porch. The views from this area are the best and easy to reach
From fishing to kayaking and horseback riding, you can do it all in this wonderfully well kept State Park. There are even bald eagles that fish and live here year round. Multiple boating ramps and a camp ground make Codorus State Park a great place to visit in the fall. The leaves change usually in late October so be sure to bring your camera.
I use the park in many ways ! We walk at the park . We often take a meal and sit in our car and watch the lake as we eat ! We go to the fireworks! We also rent the boats and go boating ! The area is so peaceful ! I love watching the birds and the animals scurry around!!
Beautiful scenery. Nicely groomed trails. Lots of activities, picnic areas, rentals, marina, community events. VERY stinky bathrooms. They need to take a lesson from Rocky Ridge.
