We spent a delightful morning shelling on the beach here. We came at low tide and found a bounty of shells. The light house is really cute too. This may be the highlight of this trip to Washington.
A beautiful park with beach to walk on. However, the beach is strewn with driftwood of all sizes which you need to get over. It isn't difficult for most but might be problematic for folks who are mobility challenged. There is handicap parking next to the lighthouse. The lighthouse store isn't open in winter. It is illegal to remove driftwood. You can bring a dog if it is on a leash and remember to clean up after it.It was windy and many folks thought it was cold. But a sweatshirt with hood seemed good enough.
If you are on the Kitsap Peninsula on a clear day this is totally worth the drive out there. The light house is nothing outstanding but the views from there are incredible. We went out there on New Years Day which was sunny and cool but no breeze to speak of so it was quite nice. We could see the Cascade Mtns. from N of Mt. Baker to Mt. Rainier. The Seattle skyline was visible. We saw dolphins making their way N in the water. There is a nature walk at the park in the wetland area which we did just part of. There is at least one long set of steps to go up- or down depending on the direction you are going of course, and that stopped us because of knee problems that don't do well on inclines. Just before you get to the lighthouse you will pass a home that is made out of part of an old WWII tug and just that was worth seeing.
Point No Point is a classic fisher's favorite spot when the Salmon are running. Running or not, it's worth a trek by car if in the North Hood Canal vicinity for beach combing, spectacular views of Puget Sound and Whidbey Island .
Great beach for just walking and exploring --- thinking, enjoying the gorgeous views, shelling, etc. Beautiful views of mountains on practically all sides, include Mt Rainier and the sound. Always a lot of boat activity, float planes, cargo ships and if you are lucky, seals and sea lions swimming off shore.
Out of the way at the end of a road, this park/beach/lighthouse is a beautiful place to spend a day. Terrific views, a sandy beach, and of course, the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is only open a short time, but the rest of the area is worth the trip.
A very serene spot to enjoy the Puget Sound nature with one of the oldest Lighthouse in the background, a lovely beach with great shells and sand dollars for collection, a great wild berry bush trail to keep the kids busy, a great place to bird watch while having an ice-cream... there are benches for quite time if inclined to connect with nature...
we are lighthouse nuts and had the best time visiting this light. there are many beautiful photo ops for those of you who like to snap pictures. and the beach and walking paths are great too.we enjoyed a nice picnic while we were there and people watching. hope you enjoy it too!
Point no Point beach is a perfect place to take a walk on the beach or to stop for a quick picnic. The beach is great for looking for shells, playing in the sand, or spotting seals. My kids had a great time running around the beach and playing in the water. We decided to stay on the beach for the 4th of July and it was spectacular because you could see fireworks going off across the water in Everett and Whidbey Island as well as in Seattle. It was really amazing. They say that you can't start fires, but there were multiple camp fires so they must not enforce the rules much. While my kids were playing, I was fishing from the shore and I caught several dogfish, which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this beach if you are looking for an afternoon activity or a place to go for a walk and enjoy the ocean.
We rode the motorcycles over from Everett via the Kingston ferry. The lighthouse wasn't much to look at and the drive wasn't the most scenic getting there. For those looking for something like Fort Casey, this place was a let down. It did have a nice beach and plenty of parking though. If I had to rate the day, the best part was the 15 min ferry ride, not the final destination at the lighthouse.
