Was here to watch my sister compete in the Ironman! What a spot! So busy and crowded with racers and then went back the next day and the place was spotless pristine beach with an amazing view of Blackcomb and Whistler. So European looking. Felt like I was swimming in the Alps!
This is a great beach. You can swim, play some volleyball, or relax. We loved watching the dogs enjoy the water, as there's a dog park next door. It is on one of the cycling trails, so it's easy to get to. The bathrooms are pretty clean for a public park. We visited this park twice during our week's stay. Well worth the time!
Connected by the Valley Trail for bikers and walkers, the park is a nice size with volleyball nets, beaches, tables, exercise stop spot, and much more.
We stopped by to view the lake. The weather was sort of drizzly. I can't say the view was particularly special or scenic but if it was sunny and you took a picnic I think it would be nice. Especially if you were travelling with children. There was lots of green space and some ducks.
We visited Rainbow Park during the Ironman weekend. Many people cycle, jog or walk from the Village to the Park. However, be aware of bears. We didn't see any but there was evidence that they are around.
It was amazing and so much fun. I would definitely visit this lake again when I come back to whistler.
Rainbow lake is indeed like a beautiful country club. The swimming is refreshing with gorgeous views of the mountains. There are picnic tables, grassy places for chairs, a special dog beach, a changing cabin with bathrooms and generally one of the best excursions at whistler. Don't miss it.
We stop by this lake a few times when traveling to Whistler. I like the combination of mountain and lake views, you can't get the same in Vancouver.
You can drive or get there easily by bike on the valley trail. It has a very nice beach which can get quite crowded on a hot day! gorgeous view of the mountains across the lake. There is an off leash dog area (Barking Bay) which is zainey with happy ball chasing/swimming dogs. Don't go to that area unless you want to get in the way of a wet shaking dog! But its so much fun with your dog who loves it! there is a dock so you can swim with your dog. There are washrooms, BBQ pits and a large grassy area for relaxing or sports.
Theyactually skate on the lake. It's a beautifulspot to have a romantic walk and check out the view of Whistler ski fields. We'll worth a visit.
