My husband and I visited The Springs for the first time and really enjoyed ourselves. We realized that we had forgotten the bag with his swimsuit but luckily they had spares. First thing, make sure you make a reservation. They limit the number of people who can enter which is nice. We made a reservation for an all day pass at 4pm even though we could not make it there until 530pm. I called ahead to confirm that was OK and was told yes. There is one large pool which is moderately hot. We preferred the large hot tub which was very warm. The steam room was great. They keep ice water around the pool so you can stay hydrated. They also have food and beverages that you can order by simply putting a flag up. The Wait Staff comes right up to you to take your order and serve you. You pay your tab when you exit. The grilled cheese and turkey panini were great. They also had a very nice wine selection. Most of the families with children were gone by 630pm so we were able to enjoy the live entertainment. The locker rooms were very clean and had all the extras that we needed to get ready for the drive home. They even had freshly brewed coffee available at no charge for our drive home. We will definitely be back!
This was not a free place to go, but it was lovely. We had 4 adults and 2 children. The trick is to making a reservation. Many people were turned away the day we were there. They keep the numbers down and then it feels much more relaxing. We ran a 'tab.' So, we ate meals there, 3 of us had wine, we had cool drinks. They also keep a large container of iced water for everyone. You cannot bring drinks of your own in. They also have sunscreen if you forgot yours, some water toys for the kids, and lovely fluffy towels. Meals were quite good and reasonable. The hot tub is large and was never crowded. The kids had an absolute fantastic time. I'll go again.
They have done a terrific job on the facilities. The price keeps numbers down, so it is more intimate than if it was too cheep. We were there on Jan 1st, and they could have used more outside help as the wait for service was much longer than normal. Nice amenities and descent food if you're hungry.
This place is wonderful! Not nearly as big as Glenwood, Co. But just a great! The food is also great and not overpriced! We went with our brother in law and his kids and couldn't have had a better time. I also got a massage while there and as a industry employee, I would have to say it was also one of the best. I hight recommend this to anyone for a day trip! Just make sure you make reservations online!
It was probably 40 years since my last visit to this hot springs. Gee, things have changed! We had a fantastic time soaking in the pool and hot tub. The fact that reservations during busy periods are a requirement makes The Springs an even more attractive. They told me they limited the pool to 100 people, and if walk-ins come in and this number is exceeded, they are sadly sent away. All of this made the pool very comfortable and a wonderful place to relax. So if you really want to make sure you can get in before driving up from Boise, call and make reservations. What I did not expect was the good food. The food was tasty, nutritious, and very affordable. Thank you all for a fantastic day. You have a real jewel there and I hope you keep it that way.
I went here thinking of staying for an hour or so. Three hours later I left relaxed and refreshed. Make sure to take advantage of Crystal's "Watsu" if you are there on a Monday or Wednesday
Four of us drove over from Boise on a Friday afternoon for a soak. 1st timers. We had a lovely experience. The staff cheerfully greeted us and checked us in. No issues with the locker room as it was clean and warm. Found the water temp in the pool and hot tub to be just right. The steam room was nice too- real hot & steamy as you would expect. Attendants came by frequently to take food & drink orders. We didn't try much for food other than the nut mix but that was good. I was happy to see they had Payette Brewing Outlaw IPA on the drink menu as well as other beers and wine. We stayed about 2 hours which seemed like plenty of time. Found the $16 fee a bit steep but suppose that helps keep the demand in check and reservations slots available. These are my suggested improvements- - Provided towels could be larger. Could barely wrap it around me.- Could use more showers in men's locker room (only 2) & the water, although hot, really smelled like sulfur- more so than the pools. Sure it's clean & all but just made me feel like I wasn't really washing off. - Put in a 2nd hot tub since only have one & it was at or near capacity pretty much the whole time. Of course be sure to make a reservation before going or you will likely be turned away during busy times.
First time visitors from Boise on Saturday evening and we had a very relaxing time. Driving through snow and sleet to get there was well worth it to find such a warm and welcoming environment at the end. The front desk folks were pleasant and explained the amenities as we checked in. The locker rooms were clean and the towels fresh. The large soaking pool was just lovely and the steam bath with lavender scent was soothing. I did not get into the large hot tub that evening, but will on future visits…as there will be future visits.
We visited on a beautiful cool fall day and the Springs were everything we had been told a more! The staff are the most accommodating and friendly, it is awesome. The facilities are clean, modern and spacious. The fee is great value and the food menu is well priced and offers good variety. Over all, this is an excellently run facility and well worth the relaxing drive to Idaho City!
We decided to explore Idaho City and route 20 out of Boise. Fantastic historic small town, don't miss it. On way back called by the hot springs, obviously renovated to good standard and eager to please. Paid for 2 hours swimming, including steam room & hot tub. Very relaxing and peaceful, everything clean and inviting. Fantastic end to a busy day.
