the best place to walk outside and they have a playground for the kids. They also have water fountains and it is both shady and in the sun.
Beautiful outdoor park that has a lot of room for the kids to run around and have fun! The shade was very nice, and the park as a whole was peaceful.
The Community Park of Irmo (aka “Irmo Community Park”) has been called a jewel, and I can’t argue with that. Dedicated in May 2014, the new park occupies a predominantly wooded 14-acre site and has a paved trail, playgrounds, a grassy area, a picnic shelter, restrooms, and a 500-seat amphitheater. Additional amenities are in the works. Area residents are mighty happy. Irmo’s other popular park, the Irmo Town Park, is quite small, and a large, amenity-rich park like the Community Park has been needed for a long time. During my recent visit I saw a lot of smiling faces. The new park will serve as the permanent venue for the Irmo Okra Strut, a venerable community festival (established in 1974) that hosts about 50,000 festival-goers a year during a two-day event that features a parade, family fun activities and major entertainment. Other events, such as concerts, birthday parties, family reunions and office picnics, will be held throughout the year. The park hosted a well-attended “BBQ and Blues” concert during the July 4th weekend.
I like this park. Nice playground for the kids. Trees keep the place cool. Gazebos for picnics are nice as well. the Okra strut festival was held here and the stage/seating made for a great concert environment. Looking for a nice place for a family outing-come her and enjoy.
Our family loves hanging out here. Most of the park is heavily shaded. Short paved walking paths. Bathrooms are being well maintained.
