We (my husband and my son and myself) had a great 3 days with Mario - we went on a long walk to see some waterfalls, then a hike up Mt Mogote, then a rafting trip. Each night we stayed at the Jarabocoa River Club which was also wonderful. Everyone was really friendly and the Ranch was very nice with a good lunch and bathrooms. Really nice eco-tourism. We will return to hike Pico Duarte.
Recomiendo visitar a Rancho Jarabacoa.
We went rafting through the river and it was really fun. We were the only tourists that day so we got a little extra attention. The guides are really experienced and super fun aswell! For us it could have been a little more extreme, but never the less it was a lot of fun! After the work you will get really nice dominican food. Recommended!
Tenenos pensado volver a hacer alguna otra actividad
We went rafting and it was an amazing experience. We went down many waterfalls including a 3 metre fall. The equipment and boats were in great condition and our guides seemed to be having a great time which added to the experience. Wish we had time to stay for lunch next time. Do not miss it if you are staying near Jarabacoa!
So we went to this place by ourselves (not through hotel). We got a deal, because we negotiated the price! This place costs $50 pp for rafting and lunch. If you don't want lunch, it costs $35 pp. Thats $15 savings per person. We ate outside of the ranch ALL four for $15. And local food is amazing. So really no reason to pay $15 for lunch. We also negotiated a little more and ended up paying $30 each. I cannot recall how long it really took us, but it was enough time to enjoy the attraction. Other rafting places will not offer you such a great deal. (Also, rafting distance is 30 km long). We went with Miguel, aka Cupido and he even trained us on what to do in emergency and etc. As much as we saw, none of the other rafters got the drill from their guides, so go with Miguel.
We wanted to go horseback riding with our son, and this place was perfect. We arrived and requested horseback riding (they offer white water rafting and other guided activities), they told us to have a seat while the horses were prepped. I like that the place has a lounge atmosphere, where you can order a beverage and sit near a river while you wait. After the horseback riding we ordered appetizers and cocktails and they were great. I recommend it.
River rafting is great! We had a lot of fun. Staff was friendly and well prepared which gave us confidence. The place is confortable, clean and beautiful.
