This church is unbelievably beautiful. Visitors to this area should not miss the opportunity to visit this historic structure.
This is an absolutely beautiful church! They have several times for Mass on Sundays and most days during the week there are two Mass times. The Mass is beautiful and reverent. The priests are very friendly and personable. I used to go to Mass here all the time.
Built by German immigrants in the late 1800's, this church is very reminiscent of many of the churches seen in Germany today. It is truly a work of art, and is open to the public. Many times, there will be someone there to show you around and point out some of the amazing stained glass, or discuss the original construction details. You will not leave here disappointed.
If you appreciate beauty, don’t miss this important part of Jasper. The 235 foot tower is hard to miss. But the real treat is inside this 1880 sandstone church. After the Romanesque ceiling takes your breath away, check out the Swiss stained glass windows, Italian marble alter, Austrian mosaics, 1902 communion rail and Holtkamp organ. Then note the statues, the stations of the cross and the thickness of the walls. Do not forget your camera!
My neice was married there. It had a History that goes back several yearsThe Statutes were beautiful & stained glass is fantastic. When you enter the Church you could feel warm & you knew that you were in a Catholic Church.
The minute you walk in this huge old German church you are first filled with awe, then serenity. From the beautiful marble floors, the inspiring stained glass windows and the majestic organ in the balcony, the feeling of this congregation's respect and love for their place of worship is obvious.
Nice church if you like churches. But unless your really a fan of churches and 1900's architecture its not really an "attraction"
If you are in jasper it is worth taking a look at if you are interested in the history of jasper. Walk around outside and see the statues then take a look inside and don't miss the cemetery with its big head stones.
This is a beautiful church inside and out. All the artwork and details make it just beautiful to look inside.
This Roman. Catholic Church is one of the largest in Indiana. The German Gothic interior rivals those found in Europe. Beautiful stained glass windows sponsored by German immigrants who settled in the area in the mid 1800's. Well worth the time to tour!
