It has a good surface, with few road crossings and you can break it up into several loops with the bridges. I did Science Museum to Harvard Boat House and back which is a ten mile lap. Royal Sonesta Hotel did free bikes for two hours which was great.
The bike path is fantastic and allows direct access to the city while remaining pastoral.I've stayed in both Boston and Cambridge and used the trail.
If you love water and you love to bike. Go to the CRBike Path and take a spin! The surface is flat, in great shape, and wide enough to accommodate folks going in both directions. The energy on the Bike Path is contagious!
The path is gorgeous in all seasons and it is peaceful enough even though it goes through busy areas. You get to see the river all the time and some passages are surrounded by nature. One of the best paths in Boston to bike. Minute man path is also gorgeous!
My friends decided to take me out of my dorm room from which I rarely come out of and dragged me for a walk by the river. The weather was perfect during that time period and the three of us walked along the bike path. It was quite scenic...the lights shining on the river, the little ripples, the light breeze! Ah the beauty of Cambridge! This is where it lies!
We walked miles an miles o the path next to the river and also use this path to get us near to the places we wanted to visit like Harvard square. The noise level of the cars is however negative and we could not talk to each other. The river with the small boats is awesome. And we saw lots of water birds and turtles, squirrels, and a rabbit. There were many people on foot and others on bikes. Really nice place to visit.
Lovely to walk the bike path along the river in the September sunshine, and watch the kayaks, skiffs, and ducks go by.
We use this route to go to Cambridge. Even if biking along the river is very plaisant, the highway along the bike path is quite noisy.
a must do even for visitors Now that we have the hubway bike rentals its even easier to bike around Boston great way to see our beautiful city if your not a bicycle enthusiast then walking is great too a must do while you are here
My husband walked three miles one morning after breakfast. What an awesome view of the river and of MIT's buildings. Next time we want to rent a kayak or row boat.
