It was very charming, but not spectacular like the Crawford Notch and the other mountain areas. Maybe it was because it was raining, but it is still pretty, and a nice, gentle walk for Jackson.
If you find this helpful please click helpful below. To all of you staying anywhere near Storyland, you can find this place very easily and it is great for an afternoon. You could kill 4 hours here for sure. Its a rocky river that has some pools, faster moving parts, easy to hike up or down, lots ofParking along the river and peopleAre usually spread out.We saw people with grills and coolers, we say others that appeared to be having a family reunion. We brought our dog, she went swimming! Everyone was very friendly and played with her as well. Its about a 5 minute drive from glen. You cross a near covered bridge as well.Definitely a must do. I would recommend and will go back.
Beautiful views....located in town of Jackson...can walk the rocks or sit and enjoy the peace of your surroundings. Enjoyed this alot!
Jackson Falls is a must-see attraction at all times of year. There are multiple levels and heights of falls right at roadside, and the view to the west is just stunning. In Spring the waters are raging with unbelievable fury and in Winter it's hard to understand how ice can form on such rapidly moving water
Great place to view some ledges and swimming. The mountain views are gorgeous. Family orientated, good place to enjoy a book, be wary too of your youngsters-sometimes creeps come around too. Just be aware of your surroundings and they go away.
Although covered over by ice and snow at this time of year, it was nice to view the falls and enjoy a brisk, challenging hike up one side and down the other. Be careful of vehicles though.
Beautiful views and a real tranquil spot, our hotelier advised of a beaver dam just up from the bridge too but we didn't have time to check it out.
I have been here during all of the four seasons. Spring and fall are the best. The place gets very busy during the summer. Great spot for a swim. In the early spring, when all the snow is melting upstream, the water really moves quickly. By summertime, the falls are more of a trickle. The trees changing colors on the banks of the wildcat river and around the falls make for a lovely backdrop in the autumn. Very easy to access. We always see lots of people here with there canvases setup, painting the scenery. However, if you are looking for a spectacular falls with a large elevation drop, this is not the one for you. Very gentle, sloping falls.
These falls require little effort to reach as they are so close to the centre of Jackson and you can park next to them. Plenty of places you can get really close to the water to enable you to take really close up pictures. I got some great shots there. Plus higher up locations to look down n the water
This is a lovely area. The falls are gentle, with large areas of rock to walk out on. There are numerous locations for photos. Nearby is the Honeymoon Bridge. The community of Jackson is quaint!
