It depends on the time of the year that you visit. But at times the traffic is to fast for a refuge
It is a beautiful drive to get there from Thief River Falls and even longer the day we went there. There was a detour that added at least a 1/2 hour more to the drive - good thing we weren't in a hurry. The only wildlife we saw were ducks and geese crossing the road. We did have a nice time tho.
just love to be able to drive around and see the wildlife.
Kids were there for a field trip and Lynda was GREAT and the kids had a BLAST!!
My mom and I come here and take our dog for walks, and just to drive around and look at wildlife. It is a great place but the times that it is open are very inconvenient. A place such as this, in my opinion should be open on the weekends.. I mean you can still go there and walk but there is a tower that we would like to climb but it's only open on weekdays,I think this is strange. Otherwise great place to explore.
