This was my first time to the Planetarium. While it seems a little dated it was still a great trip. We came to watch the Wild Ocean movie. The staff was very nice and the movie screen was cool to see.
This place could be a cool thing to do if they would put a little money into the place to renovate it. It is looking worn out. It would be awesome if they would add imax. Parking is really hard to come by now that the new convention center is there.
I read that this was the largest planetarium in the SE part of the United States, and I was excited to take my children there. I thought a Planetarium meant that you looked up/learned about the stars, but this was old and was not impressive. The main attraction seemed to be to sell tickets to watch certain movies within the Planetarium. It was also very hot inside as if the air conditioner was not working. I will say that the ladies who worked there were very courteous and helpful and we enjoyed speaking with them.
We had a good time with the kids watching a movie here. The facilities could use some updating, but overall we had a great time.
This was a terrible experience.they only took cash or checks, the man showing the movie was rude, the film was awful and there was nothing to see besides an inaccurate model of the solar system. The girl at the desk was nice, but that was the only positive I can say about it. They can do so much better! This was inexcusable. Won't go again.
My husband and I go to the Planetarium every once in a while to watch the movies, see the stars, and gaze at the planets. This is one museum that stays open til almost midnight on some nights, so it makes a great date night! We can go and get a nice dinner, and then head over to the Planetarium to get lost under the sea, under the stars, or to discover new lands that we didn't know existed! It's a really fun experience.
This sky show (New Horizons about Pluto) was so outdated and boring that we fell asleep. The graphics from this film looked like they were from the 80's. The only interesting thing was the sky, and it was more of a filler than the program itself. If you are going to see something, make it one of the films.
But the film we saw was awful. I wanna go to the planetarium to see stars. I feel like they sold out by trying to be IMAX. However, I will go back in search of seeing things more sky related.
The show was educational, but technology has come a long way since this planetarium was built and it doesn't seem to have kept up with the times. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
I went here for a child's birthday party. The place really needs updating; it kinds of reminds me of a cross between an old movie theater and a bowling alley. I think the kids had a good time and the movie we viewed was the kind of hokey that made it amusing and enjoyable.
