We've been to Keystone many times and rented skis, boards and boots from several places. Mountain View has by far the best prices. The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and eager to please. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Be sure to reserve online to make process much quicker (especially at peak times) and save 20%.
We used this company for bike rental and shuttle down vail pass. They have excellent equipment, were nice and helpful. We only made it as far as Dillon before teenagers started whining. We could've easily gone on to Dillon. Highly recommend this trip.
I've rented from Mountain View Sports 9 times now. They are very knowledgeable and will get you the best equipment they have. I get the Performance package so I can get a little better equipment. The last 2 times I've rented from them, I actually got brand new skis. In regards to some other reviews on here about the grumpy staff, you just need to understand how many people go through this place in a typical day. Are they chatty? no. They are there to get you your equipment, make sure it fits, and get you out the door and on the mountain. Their system of moving you through the different stations works and is the most efficient way of handling the crowds. It's not always busy though. The last couple of times, I've been the only one in there. Pick your time to go in wisely. Don't go right after the mountain closes. I always get my equipment the night before around 7pm. I drop off around the same time on my last day of skiing. Concerning the rental prices, these guys can't be beat. With the 25% discount that most lodging places give you in addition to their own low prices, you're sure to find the best deal in all of Keystone. One other note... on our last trip, a member of our party had trouble with their boots. Took them in the next morning for a really easy exchange and personal service. Had no problems at all.
Just want to thank the guys at Mountain View Sports for a great experience biking the Vail Pass on 6/23/2014. They are very professional and accommodating and the trail is absolutely beautiful. The stop at Copper Mountain was a hit with our 7 year old grandson. Can't recommend these guys enough!
We took the Vail Pass Bike Shuttle and had an absolutely wonderful time. Before our trip, the reservation process was smooth. The day of our trip we were greeted warmly and were impressed by the knowledge and friendliness of the staff. We had two very excited toddlers with us and they loved looking at all the bikes. The double wahoo rider was perfect for them since my 3-year old could feel like he was helping Daddy pedal. The pass itself was gorgeous! We did the 12-mile trip to Frisco, which is 90% coasting with only one longer stretch of pretty flat path where you need to pedal. We packed lunch and stopped along the way at a little scenic outlook to eat. When we arrived in Frisco we stopped at Butterhorn Bakery for some delicious cookies for the kids. While we snacked we called for pick up and by the time we made it to the end of Main Street for the pick up location our shuttle was there to take us back to Keystone. Everything worked perfectly. We took the pass on a Sunday morning during non-peak season (first week after Labor Day) and had no problems.
This was our second time renting for family of 4-6. Picked up skis night before. Place was packed and chaotic. Pros:Easily located down and across the street from River RunMuch better rental rates than on the mountain or from the chain storesKids rent free with qualifying adultDecent equipmentCons:You have to lug your gear in the car to your placegrumpy staff can be crowdedrushed and didn't give much instruction and forgot poles for one kidSo if you want to save some significant money on family rentals and don't mind the crowds then this is your place
Rented gear here, overall good experience. We made reservations online a few weeks before and got a good price, as well as being able to pick convenient pick up and drop off times. Busy place but staff was helpful, and got some good help with a boot fitting and adjustment mid-trip when I had a fitting question. Will definitely rent from them again when we come back to Keystone. Also we learned that if your plans change and you return your gear early, (by 9am on day or days before gear was due) they will refund you for those days.
Yes, rent with confidence as they are a well run and professional outfitter. We rented bikes and they transported us up to Vail pass and we rode down to Frisco, a perfect 2-3 hour excursion! Take your time and stop and see the site, the paved path is brand new and was superb! We packed a lunch and ate riverside.
This was a great experience starting with great service from Josh and Dave, from questions on the phone to getting us set up on our bikes to shuttling us to the top of Vail Pass and back to. The bikes are like new, great quality. The ride is a blast as you coast down with views of mountain meadows, peaks, rivers. Take your time! If it hadn't been in the fifties with a bit of rain (which didn't hinder our fun at all), we probably would have continued on to Dillon. Would use Mountain View Sports again.
The staff has renting equipment down to a science. Efficient, friendly and helpful. I wish all of my encounters with businesses were this good.Big discount if you're staying with a local condo like Summit Cove.
