We booked this excursion while on the Disney Fantasy... We didn't want to do the old rum tour thing... We loved the ATVs at Kualoa ranch in Hawai'i, so of course this was perfect! There was the perfect amount of mud and trails... The host Jeff was excellent and seemed to want to make sure everything was perfect. Our guide (can't remember his name - sorry) was excellent and explained sights and just made sure we had an overall good time! Next time ( yes there will be a next time on a Disney cruise!) if we end up in San Juan we will definitely stop by and do the ATV! I hate to say it but the trails here were better than Hawai'i!!!
I called Campo Rico 10 days in advance to reserve a horseback ride. Someone answered and placed my call on hold for several minutes. I hung up. Called back and the same thing happened. I called again about 6 days in advance and finally spoke with a representative named Jackie. She booked my ride, scheduled a taxi pick up from my hotel in Condado.Come ride day, my husband and I are waiting for the taxi. That didn't show. I called the ranch and they said my pick up time was rescheduled. They NEVER informed me. We get to the ranch and the office asked for my credit card, which was previously provided. The office charged my acct a deposit, which I wasn't informed about. They say the deposit will be refunded in 5 days.Besides the office staff...the ride was GREAT! April was our tour guide. The scene was peaceful and beautiful. We rode for about an hour through water, up and down hills and ran through an open field. I'd definitely go on this ride again.
The ATV tour was such a blast! All the staff of Campo Rico Trail Rides were fantastic and friendly! Janice was a great help in keeping is updated on how to get to the location. Our friends were running a little late and they told us it was not a problem at all! Jorge was a great tour guide and showed us some key places around the area and came to our rescue whenever we encountered any problems! After getting all muddy, they had all the amenities you needed to clean yourself off! I highly recommend the experience!
We booked this excursion from Carnival Breeze, almost went with a different one, but glad we went to this one! It was a beautiful place, the zip lining was great, but the staff and guides were the best. Chris, Kim, Brian, and Lugardo(sp?) made the experience that much better. They're were knowledgable, friendly, kept everyone safe, and very funny! I would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Puerto Rico who appreciates the beauty of the natural terrain and wants some adventure. Make sure to bring comfortable clothes and good hiking shoes. Some spots were a little steep, but worth the climb!
Great tour!! We had a small group because a few other people got lost on their way to the Hacienda. I'm really glad they didn't come because we had a group of 3 ATV's and this made it very easy to go fast and really test the limits. Our guide Tuto was awesome and knowledgable. My husband and I shared an ATV and took turns driving at the different stops. The ATV's were in good condition and you could tell the staff took great pride in this. We initially got on an ATV that didn't sound quite right, and the owner heard it and immediately switched it out. Trails were nice and rough due to recent rain. Theres plenty of animals on the property, and they all look like they are very well cared for. The staff was friendly and polite. We will definitely go back.
The land is absolutely BREATH taking! The scenery is so breath taking! My favorite part is the horse back riding. It's so relaxing and you have the opportunity to see all of the exotic fruit, the mountains of El Yunque rainforest, hundreds of animals and lakes. It's almost like horse back riding in the mountains. I loved the beautiful El Paso horses which Puerto Rico is famous for!
I recently went on the two hour horseback riding tour at Hacienda Campo Rico. My tour guide, Julio, was very knowledgeable and informative. Not only is he a true horseman but he knew the history of the land and of Puerto Rico in general.
My husband and I and My brother and his wife, we all went on this excursion January 2015. I hadn't been on a horse since I was a kid so I couldn't remember anything and was a little nervous. I considered myself just being a beginner. Julio and Jorge were our instructors and went over basic safety and instructions on how to get on the horse, where to hold the reigns and how to control which way the horse goes and how fast or slow. The group split in half so Julio was our guide. He shared with us individually about the specific horse he assigned us all to based on our experience. The horse I rode was named Tsunami. She was a smooth riding horse and I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Julio took us around the ranch and we rode for a very long time. It was well worth the price of the excursion. He was very knowledgeable as well with the history around us. Afterwards we were brought back to a café type place where we could purchase drink and cool off. the weather was beautiful but it got hot at one point with sun in our faces. We also got to see/pet a goat and a pig named "bacon." I really enjoyed this excursion and highly recommend it to others that may cruise or visit Puerto Rico as a destination stop.
I'm afraid of heights and was terrified to go ziplining, but when else would I get to do this? So I jumped in and I'm so freaking glad I did. It was so so so fun!! There were 7 ziplines and like 4 or so suspension bridges. After the first terrifying jump, I couldn't wait for the next one. The guides are fantastic and have a great time. They make you feel safe and not once did I ever feel like I shouldn't be flying through the air on a steel cable. Not only are the guides wonderful, but they are ALL extremely nice to look at - just an added perk! Take advantage of this place. You won't regret it!!
We called Campo Rico at the last minute to see if they could accommodate our family of 5 for the ATV tour that afternoon. They called in an extra guide for us so we would be able to take the tour. It was so much fun and we were all grinning from ear to ear the entire time. Our guide was great and we would highly recommend doing this tour. Everyone there was so friendly! Just a heads up...we were covered in mud from head to toe, so make sure and wear dark colored clothes to avoid staining. Also, bring old sunglasses to wear and maybe a bandana to cover your mouth. These are for sale there, but it's always nice to come prepared.
