We weren't sure what to expect from a winery in rural northern Pennsylvania. But we went anyway on a Saturday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised. There is a nice gift shop inside the front door before you enter the tasting room where we were greeted by the friendly staff. Once we made our way back to the tasting room, which had large windows overlooking the grounds, we tried several wines and were given information with each one by the knowledgable staff. We left with several bottles.
WE had the best time here. The wine is tasty and the tour was delightful. Loved the staff and how helpful they were to find just the right flavor for me!!
We stopped in here as we were traveling through and did a wine tasting...this is a neat little place - the store is attached to a wine lounge and is set up for live music (and a fireplace to enjoy when its colder). Wine tastings were reasonable and the lady waiting on us was very attentive even with several couples being served at once.
Flickerberry is my favorite. Their wines are priced a bit higher than most wineries in the area. Nice lounge area
Well our visit was pleasant but not outstanding. There are no vineyards here. They do bring in the grapes and make the wine on the property. They are vey friendly and took the time to show us their wine making operation. The tasting was fun, unhurried and informative.
The people working here are very nice and extremely knowledgeable about their wine. The building is also well kept and has a nice cozy feeling to it.
On. Whim my wife and I stopped here with another couple. Very glad we did. You get to sample 6 wines for 3 dollars which is very reasonable and the ladies thought the gift area is cool. We didn't get a chance to see any live music but that surely would have been fun. We were allowed to have a brief wine cellar tour as well. Nice atmosphere and very good wines.
Very nice winery with a good variety of wines to taste, and take home... We try to stop by at least once a year when we're in the area.
We were looking for something to do while staying the night in Kane. We saw that this winery was close to the B&B we were staying at. The wines that we tried were very good. We ended up purchasing six bottles. It is well worth stopping by.
While traveling in northern PA, my friend and I found this wonderful little winery. There is a handicap ramp available to enter. A gift shop is in front & the lounge is further back and is creatively decorated with round tables "mounted" on large wine barrels. You can have a wine tasting for $3.00. They will give you a form to pick out 6 samples. The form has a sugar scale from 0- 4.5 (dry to sweet) along with a brief description of the wine, how to serve it and the price per bottle. I found that very helpful since I prefer sweeter wines. We also received a plate of cheese, crackers, pepperoni and a small dish of mustard. (Since my friend paid, I don't know if this was included in the $3.00). They have whites, reds, & blushes along with specialty wines made from either cranberry, pear, strawberry, peach or a blackberry/red raspberry combo. I tried the combo - it was very good with a strong berry flavor. My friend tried the cranberry and said it was not too different from regular cranberry juice. They give you a pencil so you can make notes on the ones you tried. We also tried a Slush - a blend of one of their sweet wines and a powdered mix. It was delicious and would make a great summer drink. The place was spotless and nicely decorated with a grape theme. They offer live music on Saturday nights. You can also go there for Comedy Night ($15) and an event called Cork and Canvas. For $25, a local artist will give you supplies and instructions on how to paint as you drink your wine. You have a finished painting to take home with you. We were able to tour the cellar (one flight of stairs) where they ferment and bottle the wines. Once again, very clean. In the gift shop, you can buy any of the wines they offer along with supplies to make your own wine at home. I highly recommend this place.
