On the shore of Lake Tăbăcărie, in the north of Constanţa, the Biserica ortodoxă Sfantul Mucenic Mina (Orthodox Church of Holy Martyr Mina) is built in the Maramures style (Northern Romania). Therefore its architecture is not typical of the Dobredja region and at first sight I assumed it to be purely a tourist attraction, representative of another part of Romania. Whilst portraying a much earlier epoch, the church was only constructed in the 1990s. Being just a short distance from the resort of Mamaia this reinforces my suspicion that it was built for touristic purposes. However, I discovered that it is a living and working church with a faithful congregation. It is also a work of art, constructed virtually wholly from wood, charmingly decorated in a rustic style and kept in very good condition. The grounds and out-buildings are delightful too and the church's position on the lake made it an altogether lovely stop on our sightseeing tour.
I like the color of this church, black, that s something different. And inside you can enjoy a huuuge wooden masterpiece, i dont know exactly when did the people build this church. But, you must visit.
It's a total wood church built by the own forces of a good priest . We took here our silver wedding, my sister silver wedding, ours parents gold wedding, and every time when we are in Constanta, we are going there with open heartedly!
It is an amazing wooden building, with a masterpiece surrounded the interior, high ceiling, all wood, and they really took care of it, a must visit !
We travelled to Constanta for a friends' wedding, which was held at this beautiful, unique little church right on the lake. Worth a look.
It is a small, beautiful, wooden church in a nice, peaceful setting by the lake.
Dear travelers,So, like always I read all recent reviews. Why am I doing like this? Because, beeing from region I can show you what is real or not, All is written till now is real. I shall try to give youmuch more informations then is already written here. That holly place is situated in a Tabacarie Park. Close of this nice church you will find many others: zoo park, planetarium, nautical club, City Mall, other moder attractions and of course, a big silent, fresh air, even is near by a noisy bulevard. Believe me, is like you are crossing in other world, paralel one. Yes, you will see dogs, arhitecture is not typical from Dobrogea region, but go there and pray, burn a candle. This type of church will find in other 2 places in Dobrogea. The 1st one is in Techirghiol resort, in fact is a monastry there, and in Mangalia. Techirghiol is near by Constanta, around 20 km, famous from a healty mud extracted from Techirghiol Lake. The 2nd one is the southern part of Dobrogea, 45 km from Constanta. This town is also a resort. If you are trying to find a place to cure your bones problems, those places are very good. But, this is other subject.I wish you nice vacations!Soory for my English Language, I am a begginer.
Looks ok from the outside, but REALLY dark and gloomy inside. 3 head-scarved women mopping the floor obsessively (over your feet if you got in the way!!)Not at all welcoming, and hard to find a candle to pay for to light. It's possibly the best bit of a VERY DISSAPPOINTING Constanta, but that's not saying much!!
Except the dogs, the beggars and the security-guys.... it's a very nice and interesting place to visit. Not (only) on Sundays, but during the week it's a very silent and holy place.
this Church is picturesque..She is sited by the lake and surrounded of trees!!!it is worth seeing!!!!
