We spent 3 hours walking next to the sea and in the city center of Cascais. By a delightful sunny morning, it was a pure pleasure. Do not expect a little fishermen city, but an average-size city with fishing and tourism and enjoy your time in this little land of paradise.
Interesting place to walk around, with unexpected sights, right on the seaside and usually good weather. Lots of good restaurants, with a wide variety of food but I would especially recommend typical Portuguese seafood .
Only a short and cheap journey from lisbon (take train from cais de sodre, around 2 euro and under 1 hour ) this town has so much to offer. Parks, endless coastline, beaches, cafes, museums,a fabulous day out of lisbon. Museums are cheap or free entry and bikes can be rented free from various places , with proof of id. Tourist info is near to train station and shopping centre. Views from coast are beautiful, take a stroll along the coast and work up an appetite to indulge in cafes and local restaurants.
This beautiful, stunning and wonderful little Gem is a must to visit when you are in Lisbon. It's just 30 minutes train ride away from Lisbon. The city has nice beaches and coast line. Although it was winter but the weather here was like in Summer. The city was full of tourists and locals but not noisy. We spent our whole day here enjoying the sun, sea, food and sights.
Have been there with local friends. It is a very nice, historic town. Perfect for an afternoon walk, with some typical food. Recommendable to visit.
stylish place right on the ocean, wonderful for fresh air activities or even just walking around, quiet, nice views everywhere both in the city and outside
Great little town with an excellent harbour and the Paula Rego Museum just up the hill. Coffee at the sea front was a disaster but the ice cream later from a ready made firm was fantastic.
Fishermen's village with great ambiance and awesome food. 40 minute train ride from Lisbon for only €3. Tip: get out at Estoril station and walk from there along the boulevard next to the ocean to Cascais.
