Great spot to get away with your family or to let your dog stretch his legs. Has all the amenities that we needed in a park and the observation tower is a nice touch.
Loved that it had a play place for kids, water area that has paddle boating. The only thing that I didn't like was that it only had one open location for bathroom.
Two very large free splash pads for the kids. Great playgrounds. Walking trail. Large pond with swans. Time it right and you will see them swimming with their little ones. Also have paddle boats shaped like swans to rent. Go up in the tower and you can see for miles. In the summer the Little Theater puts on a free play targeted for children. My grandkids love it. A real hidden jewel for Kearney!
After a long day on the road and an excellent meal at Whiskey Creek, we wanted to find someplace to take the dog for a walk. The desk clerk at the Motel 6 suggested Yanney Park. What a nice place! Glad we checked it out.
This park has all the amenities that a family needs. Restrooms, shelters, fishing lake, paddle boats, splash park, paved trails, ten story viewing tower, etc.. We use the park every week weather permitting. We'll worth checking out.
Nice pool area for kids and loved the paddle boat rides. There are swans on the lake that follow the paddle boats around. Didn't have any problems with them while we were there. I think if you leave them alone they will leave you alone.
Yanney Heritage Park is truly a gem. It's so well designed and cared for that even if you're just traveling down Interstate 80 you'll want to take the Kearney exit and visit this fine 80 acre park. You have to see it to believe it. From it's observation tower to it's children's splash ground to it's lake with paddle boats to it's walking/jogging trail to it's flower gardens and trees - it's a wonderful family place.
Great place to walk and enjoy the nice weather. The kids loved the playground, watchtower and the labyrinth. The option of renting a boat to take around the lake was appealing. We will have to bring supplies for a picnic next time.
This park was the perfect place to go for a walk after an awesome meal at the Cunningham Journal. A man-made lake and nice gardens with a viewing tower to climb are nice additions.
This is a great place to take the children or grandchildren. There is fishing, paddleboats and a water playground. Also enjoyed the bike rental.
