This was my second time on a Clayton Island Tours boat ride. The first was the Two Nations/Boldt Castle ride, which was fantastic. This time I opted for the new Rock Island Lighthouse tour. This was a great experience. We got to spend some time on Rock Island, and we were even able to climb to the top of the lighthouse, and look out at he awesome vista that is the Thousand Islands. The thing that I love the most about this company is that it feels so down-home. The guides are super nice, and will accommodate you in any way they can. The boats are not huge, so there is a sense of intimacy with your small group that you just don't experience on the larger company's boats. We love the Thousand Island region, and will be back again next year. We will then take another tour with CIT! I highly recommend their boat tours!
This is my third tour of the Thousand Islands and Bolt Castle and this is the most interesting and scenic tour by far. The guide and captain are true professionals and love what they do. This tour goes into areas of the Thousand Islands which most other tour groups miss out on because they are pros at navigating and continue to research history to find interesting stories to share.
The tour we had planned was not being offered that day (we went during the week, not the weekend) and we ended up taking a 3 hour tour that boasted a glass bottom boat. After having taken an Uncle Sam Boat Tour in Alex Bay that morning we almost felt as though we were on a misfit boat. The seats were small and not a lot of space to move around. I couldn't see anything out of the glass bottom but apparently there was a shipwreck and some zebra mussels. The tour itself was very interesting. The guide knew a lot about the area, as did the Captain. He said they had lost their lease at the dock in town so the set-up was kind of poor while you waited for your boat to come in. Didn't really keep to their schedule leaving or arriving back but we did get 3 hours and the views were beautiful!
This was a great river cruise. The guide was very informative about the Islands. We has a friend come in from California and just love the view of all of the islands.
Algae was high so couldn't see much but everything else was awesome. Perfect on a hot day and for all ages. We've done several others but this was very interesting and the view was amazing, worth every penny and then some.
We thought the 3.5 hour 2 Nation Tour we took on Thursday was fabulous. The 1.5 hour stop at Boldt Castle was perfect. We liked the fact that we travelled east on one side of the St. Lawrence river and then came back on the other side. The narration by Andy, our guide, was excellent: he is knowledgeable and his voice can be clearly understood. We will be recommending this tour to our friends. It was certainly worth the drive from Toronto!
We took the Uncle Sam Boat tour to Boldt Castle, but we decided to take this tour of the islands and we were not disappointed. This was definitely the better option if you want to know about the area. It is small intimate group, so you can easily ask your tour guide questions. The boat is small so you get up close to the islands and nature. We took the glass bottom boat tour and saw a sunken ship and another sunken ship just peaking up from the bottom. Highly recommended!
We had a great time taking the tour though the 1000 Islands as well as the Boldt Castle tour......the tour guide was very informative and our only complaint is that she needs to speak louder due to the noise level of the boat and the speakers only being located at the very front.....other than that she was very knowledgeable and friendly and both she and the captain answered all the questions we had with much expertise.....would recommend this tour company to others.....
Our tour was the perfect size... About 17 of us on board. Andy, our tour guide, was informative and entertaining. We road on the Miss Clayton for about 45 minutes, arrived at Boldt Castle for another tour, then returned to Clayton via a 45 minute tour along a different route. Worth the money. Great three hour adventure!
Took the family out to see the light house. Our guide was very informative & shared many fun facts about the area.
