This is the church my great grandparents were married in. Always a special place in my heart. I hope the city leaders never fancy demolishing this beautiful & historic church. We are losing TOO MANY of the historic buildings in downtown
I've lived in Cleveland forever, and who knew there were Tiffany windows in the Old Stone Church? Fabulous! We happened to be walking by and the door was open so we peeked in and a man gave us a personal tour of the sanctuary with lots of info.
This is a lovely old church downtown on public square dating back to 1820. The stained glass windows are lovely and include 4 by Louis Comfort Tiffany. There is an art gallery that features traveling exhibits from local, regional and national artists. You can enter it by the side entrance to the church.
I passed this beautiful building every day on the way to school and work. They are even more beautiful on the inside with a vibrant ministry to all who come to them. Great out reach programs to the community and to those who are most in need. A spiritual oasis in the heart of Cleveland.
I never get tired of visiting churches. Cleveland's Old Stone Church is particularly well maintained and has a certain charm to it that creates a calm, welcoming vibe. The wood inside looks like it gets polished weekly, and the stained glass windows are beautiful. I was unable to available myself of a tour (formal or otherwise), but I did spend lots of time taking photos and admiring the windows and altar area. I was the only one inside for the good half-hour-plus that I walked around, and I would recommend a visit to this church for anyone who is interested in places of worship and/or historical landmarks. The entrance is located on Ontario Street (right side of the church as you face the front facade). If the door is not open, push the button and someone will remotely unlock the door. Just walk up the steps and the staff will greet you and show you the way to the inside of the church.
My friends were married there and it was beautiful and can't wait to go back and see if it has changed, if it doesn't burn again!
The Old Stone Church in downtown Cleveland is a beautiful building to see. We attended a wedding there and the inside was gorgeous. What a neat piece of Cleveland history!
A very historic part of Cleveland's Public Square. Very interesting past and the staff is more than willing to share its history.
Beautiful Structure in Downtown Cleveland, we were walking around and came upon this historical and very pretty church. It looks as if it is badly in need of some repairs and I hope the city has a plan to restore this wonderful piece of its history. Beautiful stained glass windows.
The Old Stone Church is the most famous church in northeast Ohio. Beautiful stained glass andstone church. Originally built in 1834, it is just as beautiful today as it was then. A popular place for weddings, we were married there.
