I had a wonderful time here, especially playing craps. They provide hard plastic cups for your free self-serve sodas or coffee. Staff here is very friendly.
This is a very well done new casino at the entry curve into Cripple Creek. It is nicely decorated and we found the staff to be helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurants was fantastic and the gaming seemed to be about what you would expect. Quit while you are still behind!!
Your average casino, it's not on the main drag like the other casinos but they do have a shuttle that will come and get you. Then will take you back free of charge. The drivers are very nice. I always give them a couple of $ each way. Went to the gift shop or maybe that was the snack bar but bought my Rock Stars was surprised to find my favorite flavor there so bought 3. They charged me $2.50 each pretty expensive but ok since there was no other place in town that had them. Any way a couple of days latter I went back to buy one more they charged me $3.19 for one. Totally a rip off. I did play a little but found the machines very tight. I also asked about a hotel and they do have one further up the hill the guy said it had a indoor pool. However I did not go check it out. Maybe next time.
Enjoyed playing cards and the slot machines at the Wildwood. The seafood/steak buffet at its restaurant was delicious and reasonable.
My wife and I stopped here and were excited when we didn't smell cigarette smoke. This was a big plus for us. The food was average. I walked out with $80 more than I came in with, all in all it was a good day.
Went to Cripple Creek for the first time on New Year's Eve with friends. Cripple Creek is basically a small mountain town with a bunch of casinos, and Wildwood is the biggest one(I think). All the casinos are smaller than your typical Vegas casino, and with that in mind I thought Wildwood was really nice and had a good amount of table and slot offerings. We also had the buffet, which had a good amount of selection and the food was good as well, all for around $22 per person I believe. As a gambler I definitely will return to Cripple Creek, and also to Wildwood.
The Wildwood Casino is a little larger than the average Cripple Creek casino. It was nice and had an OK breakfast buffet. I expected more on a Sunday morning for brunch, but there was some variety and the food was palatable. Other than the omelet chef, the staff was not that friendly.
Stopped in on our ramblings through the mountains. The best thing is it is smoke free! Very clean, looks like new place. Friendly staff, and not as LOUD as other casinos. Laid back atmosphere. We did not eat so cannot give review on the food. We will most likely stay a weekend on our next trip.
We visited on a Friday afternoon. Nice casino and very clean. We gambled a bit then decided to grab some lunch at the restaurant/bar. Waited for 20 minutes to give our drink order, then forgotten about. Finally got drinks and our pizza (which was good), but not worth the 40 minute wait for it. The waitresses were too busy conversing with other employees to be bothered waiting on paying customers. We left and went downtown and decided to go back to the Wildwood for supper. BIG MISTAKE!!! The crab and prime rib buffet sounded pretty good, but the hot food was not hot, the crab legs tasted funny and the boiled shrimp had some sort of slime on them. For 23.99 a person, I would expect something better. The prime rib was cold. Won't go back
Once again we drove 150 miles to stay in Cripple Creek and have a nice dinner at the buffet what another disappointment. Got there and the buffet was closed again. told weather/tornadoes, got manager and found out blocked pipe. told them a note on the door explaining would have been nice...same stuff over and over again. They did comp out meal at one of the other restaurants, but the food was marginal and my wife got sick, also when talking with the fire department 4 of their guys got sick on the food that night also... they have some serious problems with their casino and motel.
