Wonderful 40 foot mascot entering Kenora. Impressive and looks majestic in McLeod Park, on the waterfront and surrounded by trees. Awesome looking fish - great for family pic! The park it is in is beautiful with wonderful natural gardens, tug boat, washroom facilities and parking, and right on the Lake of the Woods. A recommened stop for the photo op.
What an impressive fish statue. If you con't catch a real one, visit the Kenora mascot! Just be careful crossing the hiway from the parking lot.
Have driven by the area numerous times but never actually stopped until this summer. Was walking back from the hospital to our hotel + your forced to walk by the statue as there is only 1 sidewalk. It turned out to be the best part of my day. What I liked best about the area was the flower gardens. You can't see all of them from the road but they are worth the stop. I like how they incorporated sections of the Canadian shield as a backdrop. It was June so all the flowers were not in bloom but it was still a relaxing spot to hang out in the shade, walk along the paths, look at the flowers, + appreciate nature.
Definitely a cool thing to see as you are coming up to the harbor in kenora. Real nice to stop in the summer check it out, get some pictures.
Situated in McLeod park, near the fountain at the edge of the lake. It's long been an icon of Kenora. It makes for part of a nice stroll along the water, and a good backdrop for some pictures.
Kenora s known for the big Muskie that yes to very pulled from the lake. Husky the Muskie is a symbol of those days. It us in a beautiful park, that in the summer is filled with flowers and trees right beside Lake of the Woods. There s also a lookout to view the geyser out on the lake. Easy access as you drive into town. Places to sit and enjoy a picnic and the view.
Another place where stop to loosen legs after a few hours of road. Besides the sculpture, the panorama is interesting to look.
Arriving in Kenora on the waterfront one is greeted by the grand ole Husky the Muskie. There is a splendid viewing area of the lake and immaculate gardens maintained by the City of Kenora. It's a great rest stop with a bagged lunch or take out from the array of fast food restaurants in town. Enjoy a great view of the lake and the fountain that erupts on the hour.
This is a great spot to stop on your way into Kenora (from the west). Kids love it and everyone loves to get a selfie with the muskie! It gives you a great view of Kenora across the bay.
Get off the Trans Canada at Kenora - it's worth it to visit their Visitors Centre and to see Husky the Muskie. Be sure to tour the beautiful waterfront for some beautiful scenery and great food - there is even a perogie truck!!! Don't miss the Lake of the Woods Brewing Company in the old fire hall for some great beer and food.
