When you think of Toy Stores from your youth, there are sure to be certain elements that everyone can agree on - The excitement of walking down aisles packed with toys, the oohs and aahs that would ensue and of course, that feeling of spending your hard earned allowance on that one toy that you just couldn't live without. Today, that feeling is all but gone from Main Street America. Most toy stores are long gone, being bumped out of the way by "Big Box Retailers." Sadly, those same retailers hardly even stock toys anymore, leaving most parents with the internet as their only source for that highly sought after toy. Well, I'm glad to report that there's still a place where you are instantly transported back to your youth. That place is nestled away in beautiful Kokomo, Indiana. Once you walk in to Kokomo Toys & Collectibles, you get an odd sensation as though you're home. The shop owners, Amber & Todd, are beyond welcoming and ready to help in any fashion that they can. They're "big kids" too, so be careful! You'll easily spend hours chatting away and it'll be your kid that decides you've spent too long in the store! Do yourself a favor - if you find yourself in the Midwest, take the time to take a trip to Kokomo Toys....but be ready! Your wallet may not like me much afterwards!

My 9 year old son LOVES older Transformers, so we made the drive to Kokomo (over an hour away) so he could spend some birthday money. I didn't expect to love this store as much as my child did. :) So many toys from my childhood, even ones I'd forgotten about, were here. There's just rack after rack of toys from all decades... collections that you can't find anywhere else. We had so much fun here; I highly recommend it.

Kokomo Toys is a fantastic destination for toy fans young or old! They have a great assortment of great vintage collectibles as well as lots of fun new product for kids or adults of all ages. The staff is very friendly, and the new store looks great.This is a store worth travelling for!

There is so much here, it will take all afternoon to see it! Transformers, GI Joe, He-man, Power Rangers, TMNT and so much more!

I live in Mid-Missouri and have known Todd and Amber for years. I have no qualms about simply taking any given weekend and driving 6+ hours to see their store. Not only am I getting to meet two of the most upstanding people I've ever met, but the shear overflow of nostalgia one gets when you walk into Kokomo Toys never gets old.The selection of toys & collectibles (both old and new) is always changing, which for me equates to never a dull moment. To see so many items from my childhood is something I can never truly describe eloquently enough. I always find something to pick up for my collection whether it is the newest action figure or something from 30 years ago.The store itself is VERY well laid out and easy to find any particular item (meaning all collectibles are arranged by genre and theme). I have seen many people in the store and have never really felt crowded. Which also brings up that it is great to see the events Kokomo Toys host (the latest one I visited was in October for Sammy Terry which was FANTASTIC).In short, if you are within six hours of Kokomo, Indiana, visit Kokomo Toys! You won't regret it!

Although I have not yet been to the new shop, I visited the old location several times. I cannot say enough good things about the shop. Amber is fantastic, very knowledgable and friendly. The chief stock person, Todd, is also knowledgable and friendly. The old shop was always clean, and packed with cool new and vintage toys from almost every line you could imagine. Adding to the charm were the planes hanging from the ceiling as if they were flying, the arcade game machine that was still playable, and the couch you could sit on and just talk toys for hours. The owners always treated me as if I was family, not just a customer. I have yet to visit the new location, but I'm sure it's even better than the former location, and I have no doubts that the customer service is still excellent. I am looking forward to making the trip from Southern New Jersey to Kokomo to visit again.

There are toys for everyone here. We take our grandson every time he is in town. I took a broken 12 inch action figure in for repairs and they were very knowledgeable on the product and were able to give me advice for fixing my wounded warrior.

I try and make it to the shop two to three times a year and every time I walk in I am amazed at the selection. They not only remember who I am but what I am probably looking for. Also, they are very fairly priced. If you have even a passing interest in vintage toys you must make the trip to visit this brilliant shop.

I recently visited Kokomo Toys and was amazed! They have everything you could ever dream of. The staff was super friendly and the prices are very reasonable. My son is excited to visit the store because we live an hour away but its a short drive to find the stuff your child really wants, the hard to find stuff and vintage figures. The store sells a lot online but going in the store in person is really what kids love. I wish it would have been around when I was a kid! We live in a big city and they have nothing that compares to Kokomo Toys. You Rock
