A fantastic lagoon, a beautiful beach at the Sorobon resort, trendy hangouts. A place where all your troubles disappear! One thing to know: the wind..... On one side, that's why it is windsurfers paradise, on the other side: in the shadow on the beach, you might get it cold because of the 4-6 bft wind blowing right from the lagoon. All day long.....
We stopped in for fish in chips and watch the windsurfers. Its a beautiful view. The staff who instruct are friendly and fun for the beginner wind surfer. some come and spend the day sun bathing on the beach. Its a great way to spend a surface interval from scuba diving. The fish and chips are fantastic and a great price.
You can come here to watch wind surfers or eat. It a fantastic bay that creates ideal conditions for windsurfing. The bay flattens out all the water and sand for probably miles.
One of the few "real" beaches on Bonaire, if you want the sand and sun, this is the place to head. snorkling is good, but it is a 1/3 of a mile through waist deep water to get there. windsurfing is world class, and the food at the beach hut is relaxing and good.
The only thing I did liked was the road to Lac Bay. It was bumpy & uncomfortable. I haven' got anything else to say!
There was a lot of wind, and waves on the horizon... a lot of windsurfers on the water... It was nice to come here and filming the scenery...
This is a must see part of the island! It is like nothing else - the water is incredible. There are a couple of little beach front restaurants to eat at while you look out over this idyllic scene!
Great spot to hang out. Beautiful water and lots of activity. There are a couple of great little bar/restaurants. You can learn how to windsurf, store your gear or rent equipment, also.
So I had to click on the negative reviews since I have no idea how someone could only give lac cai only 2 stars and I think there is some confusion. Lac cai is the entire bay and it includes the windsurfing place which is not really a swimming beach and you really have to swim out far before it's good snorkeling and it includes the usually isolated beach by all the conches. The second is my favorite. It's a crazy ugly road to get there but man is it gorgeous. This is what the Caribbean is all about. Sandy shallow beaches and warm water. It's totally rustic so you aren't going to find a fruity cocktail or clean bathrooms so pack a large cooler with drinks, bring lots of sunscreen, an umbrella, chairs, and enjoy the beauty. Also great for small kids.
Went over to this side of island one afternoon after doing two morning dives. Great beach bar and you can rent a lounger for all day. Did I say--NAPTIME ! Can't beat the view , the serenity or the peacefulness.
