We weren't going to stop here, but decided to anyway. What a treat! The walk out the lighthouse is a smooth easy stroll. It's very, very clean. The beach areas around it are very nice also. You can also climb the lighthouse, but we did not do that. The light is very small, but as you get closer to it, it's very unique. There are also several benches and tables for picnics. One of the cleanest parks I've seen. This is an easy park to drive on by...please don't, stop and check it out.
This place is beautiful, serene and peaceful. The views are spectacular. The sand is soft. The water is clear and inviting (but cold! ;)) My favorite part - 'busy' was 20-40 people on a Saturday in August (not hundreds!)
What a great beach. Even in the winter with the ice and snow piled up, it's an interesting contrast with the summer, when it's smooth and perfectly maintained.
Nice beach, nothing special. Not allowed to bring dogs (can't figure that one out). Very overcrowded, nowhere to park. Pretty lighthouse. Everything is too far to walk from here so you will definitely need to move your car.
It was a very cold and windy night. We sat in our car and watched the waves by the lighthouse and the Badger docking.
What a beautiful stop. We have visiting as many as we can. And it appears that my husband is a big fan of this spot
Stearns Park is simply the city beach. And even when it's too cold to go swimming, which is the majority of the year, it's still worth the visit. Watching the badger, enjoying the sun set into the lake, or burying your feet in the sand. sigh. A much beloved location for locals and tourists alike.
We took some extra time while driving through the area to stop here and stroll on the beach and see the lighthouse. it was a beautiful day to see this beautiful park. The city can be proud that they have such a nice park for people to visit. Don't miss this if you visit here.
We like this beach because it is so easily accessible. It is very well maintained. There is a play ground for the kids and a skate park. It definately gives Ludington that beach town feeling.
One of the nicest beaches on Lake Michigan. Visited in October, so beach season was over, but still a nice place for a stroll along the water's edge. The windbreak fences were all up for the winter. This place probably buzzes in the summer!
