My husband and I visited this casino on our trip. We had fun playing nickel keno. I didn't really win anything but my husband floated on $20 for about 4 hours. The drinks were not bad but our waitress could have had a bit more personality. But we had fun. :)
First, let's dispense with the dislikes. If you are on the floor gambling, you could thirst to death. The floor service is poor at best. Also, if you are interested in Italian food, please do not go to The Passagio Restaurant. They don't even have a clue. Now, getting to positives, they do some things for First Responders and Veterans which I think is highly commendable. They offer these folks a free buffet once a month on different days of course. Since we live in the area, the hotel does offer us a reduced room rate from time to time. Overall, the gambling experience is good, though it is seldom we win anything. The organization does a good job. The Tropicana has the best parking garage in Laughlin. We also like the Steak House.
We frequent this casino because we seem to do a bit better on the slots than other casinos in town. Also, the place isn't run down and is maintained fairly well. We have stayed here a couple of times and the rooms are comfortable. We are not smokers and the ventilation system here is pretty good at keeping the smell down.We often participate in the Trop50 promotion on Monday, where you get a buffet for $1.99 when you earn 50 points (which is pretty easy to do on a slot machine here). The dealers are very friendly and upbeat. They seem to have a lot of promotions going on weekly and the new Bingo parlor is very nice. It's across the 'Strip' from the river, but still is right in the middle of everything (and next door to In 'n Out).
This is a nice casino. They just opened a Bingo room. Good selection of machines. Friendly staff. It is not on the river. They offer many benefits for Veterans. Sign up for their players card.
An ok place to go and gamble, I was not impressed with the long time waiting for a waitress to get me a drink, it averaged about 25 minutes each time. The place smells of cigarette smoke, but then again a lot of people smoked there. Not sure if there is anything really that they can do about it. Rooms were fair, but our housekeeper could of been better, left over water sitting on the desk and some unknown substance not wiped from the night stand.
it was just okay, nothing to write home about. i did win a little bit of money. i ate at the restaurant i think the name is train car. the food was okay, i had a salty Ruben sandwich.
Love this hotel, keep in mind it is dated and not all the glitz but it is a fun place to stay and gamble. They have this lil lounge to dance and hang out and their pool is very plain-Jane but gambling here is awesome I always WIN, seems like lots of people always win :)
Was sooooooooooooo excited to play some of the new slots!!! Titanic slots were boppin!!! And 1 game with the jewels/diamonds was fantastic! Girlfriend hit the bonus round....then did 4 RESPINS!!! We had a little audience as I was screammmmmminnnnnnggggg!!! What fun!!!
The Trop should be better, but its not up to standards. A forlorn look, bad layout, uninviting feel...just nothing to even talk about. The casinos on the other side of the road, onnthe river, are much better.
We were there to gamble. Dealers were friendly & helped to make the games interesting & fun. Win or loose.
