Lovely gardens with very nice cafe for lunch but please smother yourself in insect repellent first... I was eaten alive. Basic but tasty lunch options ( not a huge choice). A pleasant stroll around the gardens which are very peaceful.. not a huge array of plants and I would prefer a more structured walking path so as to easily cover the entire gardens but its kind of a make your own way every which way type place. Its free but they ask for a $5 donation per person which we were happy to pay.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the enchanting garden and chatted to the daughter of the creator of the garden. We had a wonderful conversation and many laughs. Our lunch was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. A visit to support this beautiful garden is highly recommended! As a marriage celebrant I can imagine how magnificent weddings in this setting would be. I'll be back!Julie Cooper
We spent an hour here just enjoying the amazing plants and perfumes. We stayed for a delicious lunch and brought some sarongs.
Food was delicious. Mostly grown in their own gardens. Lovely setting and nice to wander around the property.
The hard work that has gone into these gardens over the last 17 years is very evident. Loved the variety of exotic tropical plants in this very well set-out and established garden. Little hidden statues throughout. Enjoyed a lovely cold drink in the Hidden Spirit Cafe following our walk around the garden. Only suggestion would be labels for some of the more exotic plants as it would have been nice to know what they were.
Spent a very enjoyable hour walking around and photographing amazing tropical pants and flowers. Nice little cafe for a bite to eat.
The Maire Nui Gardens are absolutely beautiful! Walking through these gardens is such an absolutely calming and serene experience. There are so many species of plant life and beautiful flowers to see and smell. The hosts of the gardens are so very welcoming and knowledgeable. We learnt a great deal about how the gardens came about and what is within them. So much love, passion and hard work goes into the sustainability of the 100% organic gardens and it's so easy to feel this from the conversation with the host. They also have the Hidden Spirit Cafe located within the gardens - you absolutely MUST have the cheesecake! It was delicious! What could be better than sipping tea and eating cheesecake in this beautiful setting? The gardens are a not-for-profit organisation so please make sure you donate when you visit! It is absolutely amazing to see the hard work that the hosts put in to keep these gardens functioning for others to enjoy! They also commit to the sustainability of the Cook Islands community by teaching local community members how to plant fruit and vegetables organically. This place really is a local gem and is a MUST to visit during your time in the beautiful Cook Islands.
My Wife loves this spot so went along with her(im not into gardens normally)Great spot though with huge potential. Would be great for weddings!
We enjoyed a morning at the gardens wandering around at our leisure. The Japanese garden setting was our favourite. The food was good and large servings - although expensive compared to similar servings of cheesecake at nearby coco latte. Still a must and deserves that everyone enjoy their cheesecake. There is an honesty box to place admission fee into garden as you enter.
My husband and I snuck away from our son for lunch - anything but takeaways. This was a very enjoyable light lunch. The single staff member was concerned about everyone's experience and was very pleasant. Nice lunch, lovely scenery, well worth a visit but leave the kids at home.
