Our main reason for visiting the Fairmont in Malbaie was to play Le Manoir Richelieu Golf Course - we were not disappointed. The course was in impeccable shape, the views from many holes were simply breathtaking, the course was a challenge, but still fun. We were up at the crack of dawn to play early but first to enjoy breakfast at the club house - it was fantastic. Being the only people there, we had amazing & friendly service. Between our little bit of French and their bits and pieces of English, everyone got along well and the service was so friendly; the food was delicious! We didn't see anyone else on the course for several holes, so we didn't feel rushed, and could take our time to enjoy the views. This is simply an amazing golf course, and if you love golf, beautiful views and great service, don't miss it when you're in Malbaie.
The views, the pool, the staff make this a great place to spend 2-3 days. Golfers will be in heaven. Only bemol & frustration is that #fairmont still charges for internet! Suggest that you check the competition & adapt!
We loved this golf course, It was like a dream come true. All the sparkling water on almost every hole. The backdrop you cannot get a better one! The clubhouse is pretty looking over one of the longest holes and down to the river. We also went for breakfast the next morning to see the sun come up. It was an awesome view to awaken the senses...
The view on the "St-Laurent" is just wonderful. Worth riding the golf cart just for the view! $150/ person to play, includes practice balls and water.
Absolutely gorgeous views and accommodations. Golf course is in perfect condition and you are constantly distracted with the stunning views.Vreakfast at the clubhouse was not great, it was fantastic. So juch so, that on our day of departure we went back for more. If you have a bucket list for must golf courses, make sure this is on it.
such a classic old beauty, high on the hill ,overlooking the St.Lawrence River.extremely well maintained, with a very courteous staff.the only drawback is the food, that unfortunately, falls under the category of hotel dining, this is easily overcome by the many fine bistros located in the town. The real draw here,is the beautiful, peaceful, indoor and outdoor, pools and hot tubs.
This course is very well maintained. Nine of the holes are new withint he last 5-7 years. The course is well marked but challenging.
The views from this course are, as promised, spectacular. That said, the course is not particularly challenging (read that 'flat'). There are 27 holes which offers some variety. The greens were slow and the design is not up to today's quality designer courses. At the prices charged ($125), I had expected more.
Played the taddousac st Laurent combo. Taddousac a pitch and putt which starts with a par 3 and goes downhill from there. Not very interesting at all, just nine jammed in there to get more Green fee revenue. shame on you! St Laurent views magnificent and the course much more interesting and challenging. Stones and weeds in all the bunkers and un-repaired pitch marks on all the greens. Fault the greens crew for the bunkers and the hackers and lack of supervisions for poor green conditions. For the money one expects and deserves more
We played the 3 courses, St Laurent, Tadoussac, Richelieu. It was quite windy and we had a bit of drizzle , but we still played and enjoyed the courses. Green fees are $132.00 until 1pm and $99.00 after 1pm. for hotel guests. Be warned the greens are extremely difficult to read as they are very ondulated, typical mountain greens . The view on certain holes were spectacular, the 3 courses were in great condition. The fairways are manicured and well maintained. The StLaurent is a very nice and challenging course, The Tadoussac is the easiest of the 3 , the Richelieu had a lot of blind shots. I do recommend to play the courses, while vacationing , dont expect to break par though. The proshop was well equipped but very expensive. The restaurant at the club house served good breakfast but again pricey.
