My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the treetops canopy zipline tour last Saturday. We, at 61, were the elders in the group. There was also a 12 year old, but the guides made everyone feel comfortable and included. Matt and Keith were exceptional! I can't say enough about how skilled they are at making everyone, not matter what skill or comfort level, feel confident. They are extremely knowledgeable of the plants and animals native to the area. Despite the cold rain, we had a great time!
From the beginning the staff was very polite and respectful. They made the experience fun and enjoyable for our whole group which included experienced flyers and neophytes. The tour itself included shorter and longer zips, bridges and even a rappel. The setting was beautiful with many species of trees including some very large hemlocks. Tour crosses over a creek and small cliff.
This was a very exciting event for my whole family! We really loved it! The zip lines are an awful lot of fun. Once you do one or two you'll probably enjoy it a lot. I was absolutely thrilled during those runs! Our guides/trainers L.J. and Ryan were very helpful and very funny during the tour. They made sure that everyone was having fun and made us all feel like a part of a team up there in the trees. The scenery is breathtaking from high in the trees. There's a gorgeous creek running under the zip lines and rope bridges at various times. This is a highly recommended thing to do and I would definitely do it again when back in the area!
My 1st time - lots of fun. Guides were great, helpful n informative. Scenery was nice n overall loads of fun - exillerating- WVA is beautiful. Took a few hrs. Adventure does a nice job. Highly recommend it, next time is gravity!
This is a fun zipline experience to do with people who haven't been before - about half of our group was doing it for the first time. Having zipped multiple places in Hawaii and Mexico, this one was pretty fun but I think I would have been ready for the gravity zip lines. There was plenty of instruction on safety, guides were funny and made it a good experience, and it was a super way to view the beautiful forest area. The rappelling at the end was something new and was easier than I thought it would be. It was a fun day and really cool to go with a group!
My husband and i came here on an anniversary trip. We did the TimberTrek. Rachel and crew were very helpful with the training and stayed nearby for any issues or questions anyone had. There were several difficulty levels available, ranging from firefly (pretty easy, even if you are out of shape like me) to a course that was rated as very difficult (dont ask me the name, I was too chicken to try it). This is an obstacle course type adventure in the air. Loads of fun! We will definitely be back to try the canopy tour. Thank you guys for a memorable experience!!
We didn't stay here, just came for the Gravity Zip Lines. It was our first time zip lining and we thought we would be adventurous and choose the gravity zip lines. Honestly, we were not impressed. You spend more time waiting around than you do actually zip lining which made it kind of boring. The views are not impressive at all after the third one (the first "big one") as you are zip lining back and forth. The price for what you got wasn't worth it, in our opinion at least (whitewater rafting is cheaper and is a DAY full of adrenaline thrills(including a great lunch)!) The bus ride there and back with the hilarious bus driver was far more entertaining and adrenaline pumping than the zip lines themselves. I honestly wouldn't recommend it. Go rafting instead!!
We were fortunate in that we were booked late in the day (4:00 p.m. ET) and ended up on a tour with two guides and just our family of four. We've ziplined in the rainforest in Beliz and this was equally as fun and interesting. Our guides shared with us a lot about the vegitation and wildlife. They also learned all of our names and asked about our personal lives. They were also very thorough and we felt very safe all the time (except the platforms didn't have rails which was no big deal to all but the mom). We liked the bridges and rappelling. Highly recommend for families especially teenagers. Also, note the Adventures on the Gorge complex is very clean, modern but rustic - we were really impressed.
The guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. It is a beautiful setting. We didn't know there was lodging available. We will try that next time.
A must do in West Virgina. Amazing view. Racing 3100 ft zipline none like it. It is something any age can do. You do have to make sure you weight enough. Guides were great they give you training before you zip. If you go in summer take sun block. Very little shade. They provide water on the zips and after. Great experience. Will go back and do it again
