This place used to be someone's front room and although it has been enlarged somewhat, the feeling is still fantastically boutique. The people who run the pub work in the pub and even help brew some of the beer. They are fab folk, always friendly and they have a passion for the drinks they sell. No weak fizzy beer coloured water here. This is the real deal. Great drinks, great jukebox, great atmosphere, great people, great place. Go see it.
If you're just visiting Leek or are a seasoned local, who appreciates excellent ales and some great friendly people, then its time to pop into The Earl Grey Inn. Refurbished with a practical style, perfect for beer drinkers who fancy a swift pint, or better still, a longer stay drinking propper session beers of the finest quality. If the old value "boozers pubs" are fighting to make a deserved comeback, then put this place on your tick list, I'll see you at the bar....
A place to take friends and make new ones. Staff approachable and happy to advise on their products.
If the usual run of the mill keg lagers are your thing, don't go here. This is a proper, proper pub. Great selection of real ales offered by Robert the landlord who is very welcoming and has a real passion for his beers. For those doing the Leek Real Ale Trail, you will not find The Earl Grey on the list. Bizarre. There are some mediocre pubs on that ale trail, but the Earl Grey is a gem. Do visit this pub. You will not be disappointed.
We found this pub on TripAdvisor and it was well worth visiting. After a terrible pint of porter in Wetherspoons, it was a relief to find a great range of beers in A1 condition being served by landlord Rob, who clearly cares for the quality of what he sells. The locals were very friendly and the place was spotless. I really recommend you visit this place if you appreciate a proper pub selling great ales. I wish I lived closer.
Local beer served by people who really care about what thy do. It is rare to feel part of something special when you buy a pint. It is so much more than that.
The Earl Grey is a lovely little dog friendly pub. It has a great atmosphere and has a good mixture of people of all ages drinking in there. Good jukebox to ( no oasis!!! yeeeyy) It has some fantastic local ales that you can't get from anywhere else in town which makes it pretty special. My favorite has to be the Moravka Larger which is brewed near Buxton in the peak district!! The bar staff are great and so is the service. I like the camp man that part runs it.......I think His names Robert ( or Bao ) . This Pub is definitely worth many a visit......I love it! :)
So good to see this old pub reopened with a bright and lively new look. Now attracting a healthy mix of drinkers who enjoy excellent local real ales and cider, with community groups holding meetings there, and the occasional music nights - standing room only.Well worth searching out if in Leek - you will not be disappointed ! Keep up the good work
Happened upon this pub during a trip from Scotland. Great atmosphere and great selection of locally sourced beers. The landlord Robert made us feel very welcome and has a clear passion and knowledge for his craft. Will definitely look out this pub next time we visit, highly recommended!
Oh this is a gem, run by friendly staff who know & love their Ales. Sometimes hard to get a seat as it's tiny but well worth a visit for something really different & a decent crowd. It was nice to find the place clean, I visited another pub in the town well known for it's ale and it was filthy.
