If you want a great place to bring the kids in Rotterdam this is it. It has it all and once you've paid in everything else is included. To name a few there's a petting zoo, a number of playgrounds, peddle go karts, a train bus, an amazing indoor play area called Grandma's place and best of all for the hot day we had, a huge swimming area with slides etc for kids to paddle and play. The water is only shin deep but bring the swimmers for the kids! Great day!
Not quite a theme park, not quite a zoo, not quite a water park, but neither is it just a playground. Whatever Plaswijckpark is - it’s a bucket load of fun.To reach the park, it was a pretty quick tram ride from the centre of Rotterdam to Meidoornweide station, plus an short walk through a regular park – the type with just trees and grass. Screech around on four wheels through traffic, roll down a giant green hill, fly through the air, water park, petting zoo and more. Read our blog for great photos and more pictures. The kids didn’t want to leave and neither did we. Seriously, it was one of the most enjoyable places we have visited, which incorporated a whole day of play, education and exercise.
Finally, after all the years living in Rotterdam, I took my family to Plaswijck. And what a surprise, it is such a nice park. Kids can really play here, there is lots of stuff to do by kids, like climbing, jumping, driving, tossing, towing etc...Entrance is only 11 euro each, but after that everything is for free. There are no electronic toys here, so it is good to take your kids here, a nice park, outside, and there is a pool with a max depth of about 50 cm. Small kids love it!Had a great time here! Will definately go again!
I visited this place as a 6 year old child, and it was great fun. Now, as an adult, not so much. If you have kids, this is a great place to go. It has swan-shaped boats for you to go around the lake. Your kid can ride a horse. There's all kinds of stuff to do.
We loved the park and did spend a whole day there. We liked the pool-area and the playgrounds. It was a very hot day, and it was almost to hot to be outside, therefor we were very pleased to find a indoor playing area, that was really fantastic. Very nice decorated, and the kids loved it (and it was nok like the indoor plastic monkey tonkey playgrounds, you find everywhere). Also a nice area with the animals. The thing about the park is, that there is so many different things to do, so you don't get tired or bored. Only negativ thing is, that the food stinks. I can't believe it is so difficult to make food, that is not junk.I would recomend this park for parents and kids under 10.
We spent a very nice few hours at Plaswijck park walking around with our 2 year old daughter playing and newborn sleeling in the pram. Our toddler just loved to touch and stand close to the animals in the animal pens.Bouncing castle's and playhouses were really nice also.Parking was ok, not too long walk even if the parking lots across the road were full.I would recommend for families with little kids/toddlers :)
My children (6) absolutely love this place, and do the other children we've taken. Mostly recommended if it's warm enough to take swimming gear. Enormous variety of activities, can fill a whole day.
if you want to have a relaxing time with young kids, make sure to go to Plaswijckpark. The traffic garden is massive and thorougly enjoyed by my kids.
We went here with our kids and another couple with small children. To our surprise the park has been changed quite a bit during the past winter. Some of th playground installations have been moved around and a large new indoor play area, the house in the hill, was erected. It includes a new restaurant and they closed the old one. The new one is much bigger. The house in the hill is nice with some trampolines, a climbing installation where the kids climb around in a super sized living room, a black board, some slides, etc. In total our kids probably spend 2-3 hours there alone. Food is still not great, but you can get your usual sandwiches and frites. Prices are very reasonable for a park. I'm not sure, but I think they lowered them a little. Anyways, you can still go to the children's traffic garden, the semi-pool area, the zoo area, etc, but you will probably spend most of your time in the house and that is not a bad thing.
Plaswijk Park has a lot to offer and encourages kids to be active and explore. We went there with kids ranging from 1.5 to 6 years and they all had a great time. The new indoor play area adds a lot to the possibilities, and we only got to see about half the park in the day we had there.
