Unfortunately the Duomo is covered in scaffolding right now so it is difficult to see the outside. The side chapel is wonderful covered in many different colors and intricate designs of marble.
One of Reggio Calabria's most important monuments, it is certainly worth a visit. Rebuilt in the years following the devastating 1908 earthquake, on the same place but with a different position from the totally destroyed Norman Cathedral, of which we still preserve the beautiful baroque-style Holy Sacrament Chapel(admirable in the left nave!). It has a Neo-Romanesque-like facade and a Gothic style on the inside, along with an eclectic-liberty style, combining both classical as well as modern elements. Most artworks on the inside were made by local artists from the South of Italy, particularly worth mentioning are Francesco Jerace 's artworks like the two marble statues of Saint Paul who converted the Reggio People to Christianity in 61 AD. and Saint Stephen, the first city's bishop. In the right nave you can still admire the burnt fragment of the famous marble column which, as the legend goes, helped Saint Paul convert the locals to christianity. Particularly noticeable are the colored glass windows which at sunset, together with its white facade, contribute with very suggestive color effects, both inside as well as outside the Cathedral.
Aconselho visitar a catedral de Reggio e a praca central, sao bem bonitas.
