Honestly....it takes about 20 minutes to ride ALL the water rides !!!!!! JUST NOT MUCH THERE !!!!! We went with high hopes and left feeling ripped off for the money we paid to get in ( not cheap ! ) YOU hav to PAY to rent a tube for the ave pool !!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves ......DON"T go to this place expecting anything very exciting .....
My husband and I went to the waterpark yesterday and were pretty disappointed. I read some reviews so I knew kind of what to expect. There are only five slides to go on. They're fun, but there needs to be more. The park is very small. We did enjoy the lazy river and wave pool, as well. I think this is a great place to go for families with little kids. There's a nice kids area and most kids can go on the bigger slides too. The food options and prices were typical for a place like this. I thought the price to get in was way overpriced for how small the park is. Thankfully, my husband's entry was free due to being active duty military and as his dependent I got 20% off. Very thankful for parks that show their appreciation to the military in that way. Thank you Big Surf! I was hoping that with being in the Lake of the Ozarks area that there would be a great waterpark, but I guess there isn't. It was a great day to get out and enjoy the weather, though, and we did have a fun and relaxing time. I don't think we'll be returning, though.
Its an OK water park. I was quite disappointed in its size. It had a small lazy river with small tubes. Only 1 tube slide (not counting Zambezi Falls) the other 3 were body slides. And the wave pool was OK. The kids area was the best feature...it had a small children's area and one for kids that are too little for slides but almost too big for the kiddie area. The plus was the cabanas u could rent and because its such a small park there were not a lot of lines. There was no value in the price. I could pay less to get into a water park at home (deep river in hobart IN) and have twice as much to do. I do NOT recommend spending your money there...its severely overpriced...the food too.
I love Big Surf. It's mainly because since it is at the lake and the lines are shorter. Unlike going to Six Flags STL or Oceans of Fun KC you can usually get through the lines in no time flat. Makes for a fun half/full day when visiting the lake area.
I went to this waterpark last summer with my fiance & it was fantastic :)They offer discounts so if you fit the bill def get the discount because it is a bit pricey to get in.You can get a locker to put your things in which was nice, the only thing I didn't like about the lockers is there isn't much shade in the area so if you don't wear your shoes over to your locker your feet are going to BURN.I thought it was great for adults & kids. The slides they have are great fun & the rides with the tubes are great! You will not get bored here if anything it'll wear you out & they have a lazy river which was super nice & you could go around it as much as you wanted to.Overall it's a great waterpark, a little bit of a drive from the Lake of the Ozarks but really worth your time, I recommend getting there in the morning to get the most out of your day & money.
Smaller water park then most. Has a wave pool and a few slides but the girls had fun. We didn't eat the park food its really expensive. I got the tickets at a discount and that was good because they are kind of expensive.
This water park is filthy and overpriced for the few rides they offer. Restrooms are miserable. Manager was disrespectful when purchasing our tickets. This water park offers very few water options for rides. After you pay a large entry fee, (which by the way are higher than what is posted online, they want to charge another $6.00 for a tube in the wave pool..but it can only be used in that one location. Pools and lazy river area had brown/black skum and old bandaids on the edges. Not clean...overpriced...few ride options. Save your $$$...go to Oceans of Fun or Schiltterban.
As a local we loved going. After Memorial weekend they would have an appreciation day for the locals which was great. Every time we go back to the lake visiting Big Surf always looks like it's closed. Parking lot always looks empty from hwy. 54. I'm sure they'd make more money and get more customers if they had a way to show the people they are open.
We paid for their "evening passes" (lower rates after 3 p.m.) and still paid $65 after tax for 2 adults and 2 children. Full day rates would have put the price over $100. I can't imagine paying that much for what you get at Big Surf. It's a fine place, clean and well-maintained, but over $100? There just isn't *that* much to do. I was also pretty disappointed to learn they were only open until 6:00.But what annoyed me most was the attitude many of the lifeguards seemed to have. Granted, it's near closing time on a Saturday and they're probably ready to call it a day. But it was as if they couldn't be bothered with people. Just really rude and off-putting. They were snapping at little kids in the kids' area. It just wasn't necessary. So again...it's a fine waterpark - no complaints about the facility itself. It's just not a good value and at least on that day, the lifeguards were rude.
This park offers a relaxing atmosphere. We expected it to be crowded and overflowing with kids, but that was not the case. Plenty of families and children, but our experience was pleasantly refreshing. Try the pizza in their snack area.
