Love the Walker Art Gallery. If you want to get lost in different periods of history, there is no better place than here. From Roman/Greek statues to portraits of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I everything is here. Really worth a visit..you will come back for more
Great range of exhibits including the loophonium! Liked the ceramics collection as well as all the art and sculpture.
An impressive collection in a pleasant environment. It is very child friendly with lots of activities to keep the kids engaged.
Spent a good few hours here on our recent weekend trip and was stunned by the art on show in this truly inspiring gallery
A Most enjoyable visit . Not only from the Art point of view but the Display of Embroidery and The photography from the Bradford photographic museum. These showed many areas from my childhood. Very nostalgic.
One could spend many hours and repeated visits and still not exhaust all the magnificent art on display in this outstanding Gallery. Admission is free, so visitors are invited to consider making a donation towards upkeep.
Visited Liverpool recently for a City break, visited the Walker Gallery after seeing it in a documentary on tv. It is free to enter (although they reasonably suggest a donation) and houses the most stunning collections of old masters, sculptures and modern art. I do not profess to understand the concept of many artistic pieces, I consider myself a real layperson when it comes to art but I defy anyone not to get something out of what is on offer here. Everything from Rembrandt, Stubbs, Lowry to Hockney. Just amazing. There are I think 15 rooms and you can spend as little or as long as you want there. I am not one for revisiting places as there are too many places and things to do in life to revisit the same places regularly but if I ever visit Liverpool again I will definitely go back to the Walker Gallery.
