This is a beautiful piazza, and it's so unique given its history with the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. It looks lovely at night and there's always a nice crowd with places to get gelato and a bite to eat.
Constructed directly on the shores of the gulf of Trieste as a showcase for the former Austrian government the piazza is the largest on water in Europe. The surrounding buildings are stupendous, in particular the former palace of the royal governors with it' gilded mosaics! Well worth a visit and a coffee at one of the outdoor café!
Pretty great in size. Decorated buildings with splendid ornaments. On the Christmas time they have a Christmas tree and Jesus's birth scene. Supplemented by a couple of caffès where you can stop and have a cup of coffee with a view to Adriatic sea.
Fantastic view! Incredible in the night with the view of the Faro in the distance! Beautiful, wanna go back! I saw this first in a movie and was always curious, being there is just great!
A very good place to visit in Trieste. It is a big piazza with lots of bars and restaurants around, in summers it is full of people.
This is one of the biggest piazza in Itali, maybe in Europe. The view is really amazing, because it is beside the see, surrounded by grand old building, cafes, restaurants...
Great bars and restaurants litter the piazza, beautifully lit in the evenings, and a warm place to be (except in January, when it's freezing).
This square, the largest straight ahead of the sea in Italy, it's amazing if you are in the center and you turn slowly you can see most of the beautiful buildings of the town, that are looking the adriatic sea. Don't forget to be there by night otherwise you will regret....
The scale and grandeur of the piazza and the ornate architecture are a dream. I was reminded of the best parts of Budapest.
I have spent alot of time in this Piazza: we used it as meeting point, as place to drink a coffee or to have a special pistachio gelato. When Bora comes, you can finally take a picture of it being totaly empty cause no one or almost no one ventures outside.
