Having never been to Lublin before I was expecting a typical Stalinist city....instead I got a remarkably well preserved city with the most gorgeous Old Town.If you have visited the Old Town in Warsaw then you will recognise and love Lublin.
a beautiful old city with many restaurants gives a touch of the past in the present! it's a good start to finish the trip around the city, or to start the trip from the square to Karzimiez Dolny a beautifull small picturesque village or to Naleczow a health resort based on local springs. all together makes the trip in Lublin and the surrounding very special
We went to Lublin during Christmas holidays last year. It looked fantastic! Chritmas decorations added to the beuaty of the old town. What makes the place so attracive is the urbanistic planning of the several squares that constitute the very heart of the city. To my mind if you want to feel the heartbeat of true Poland you should certainly visit Lublin.
Superb place to visit and have a lunch or dinner as there are many unique little restaurants and places to visit. Lovely and not expensive food.
The Lublin Old Town is a hidden germ what uncovers its beauty more and more the last years. Compared to 2010 there is a real night live with lots of cultural events over the year.
Crossing the main door and getting the old town is like travelling 500 years back to the past. The stone floor, the buildings, the walls, everything is a witness of the history. Amazing!
It's hard to believe that there's really a small Renaissance village in Lublin, surrounded by a Hapsburg city, and then, of course, further surrounded by what I call "Socialism Strikes Again" suburbs stretching out of town. Walk through the old gates and find yourself back in time. It's small, but it's very very lovely, and I'm sure in fair weather (I visited in March) there are outside tables galore. Lublin offers the sublime (this part and its many beautiful churches) as well as the gut-wrenching - Majdanek - and it's a fascinating mix.
+- beautiful buildings, more and more are being renovated- nice atmosphere- close to the castle, cathedral, bus station and new shopping centre-- annoying street musicians begging for coins
Lublin's Old Town has a lot to offer for tourists. There are many restaurants with many different types of food. Most of old houses are restored and they look great. From Fara's Square we can see Lublin's Castle. There is always a lot of people there. Only minus is that many building still need restoration.
Lublin Old Town is a must see . There are many restaurants with varying cuisine , many small shops. Most of the houses are restored and beautiful. It's a very romantic place . There you can meet a lot of interesting people.
