The area is beautiful and the pier is cool. Decent food. A real hot spot if you want to have a drink or hang with the family
Just drive up to the next pier north, in Pompano...it's free. I have caught fish from the beach in LBTS...pompano, permits. Who needs the pier?
So at first I was taken back because in order to walk on the pier you have to pay a fee. It was $2.00 a person but I just never had to pay to walk on a pier. Anyways, we did it. It as so beautiful. I found out that the pier was built and owned by the owner. It's his property not owned and operated by Fort Lauderdale at all. The pier is so beautiful. Besides. just taking a walk you can rent fishing equipment at a reasonable price. They have caught amazing fish, turtles and plenty of sharks. They have pictures inside. I actually can't wait to go back with the kids.
Nice place to sit on the pier and drink some drinks. We did not stay long, as the beer prices were closer to what Disney would charge.
$3 to walk down the pier. That's pretty much it. Nothing to really see...maybe some fish guts. More worth it if you want to do some fishing.
You can fish for pretty cheap or bring you own. They are fully-equipped. It's attached to Anglin's Restaurant so grab a bite from there for sure. I've seen people catch some nice fish. Even just for a peaceful stroll, it's perfect.
Not friendly, bring the wrong food and don't care, overpriced, great view if you sit outside. I had loved this pier restaurant for many years under the last owner, but now I will not go there again.
The customer service was good although we had to wait to be seated. It was worth it though, for good tasting food. The crab backs and shrimp was outstanding. After the meal we trotted out to the peer - what a lovely sight.
This place may be good for fishers and nice to look at from the beach but staff there is unfriendly to pedestrians.$3/p fee for walking is announced in most impolite way just like if you was going to steal something valuable from them and they caught you during process. My advice is to drive few miles north toPompano Beach Fishing Pier, 222 North Pompano Beach Boulevardwhich is free and more spectacular.
You pay to walk along a jetty and more to fish from it. Views to Fort Lauderdale are good but I felt looking at the pier was better than being on it. A lovely are in Lauderdale by the Sea (LBTS) to visit the public beach and the eateries nearby. We walked to Pompano Beach and along the free pier there for a similar experience but the Pompano Beach area does not offer the same ambience and choice of places to drink and eat as does LBTS
