Beautiful countryside on the drive down. The tour was awesome! The chief distiller took his time leading us through the back where they make everything and I got a lot of education! Best was afterwards we were treated to a sample taste of everything they make AND it's good stuff. The little historic town of Lynnville is also really a wonderful step back in time. I'll go again next time out of town friends come for a visit. Thanks!
If you've toured a big distillery, this is different. Those tours are well-oiled machines designed for the masses, and given by a professional tour guide who doesn't necessarily work in the production process.Tours of Tenn South distillery are often given by the chief distiller who will take time to answer whatever questions you have. He can answer your questions based on deep technical experience, yet in an approachable way that anyone can understand.Samples of the product are available and you can also purchase it on site. It is located in a beautiful rural setting.
Great place to visit and see the distillery process, proprietor Clay made us feel right at home, the moonshine, gin, and vodka was smooth and refined. Their whiskey will be available in mid October, can't wait to revisit and taste it. Don't worry about visiting the big boy distillers, visit Tenn South to get close and personal.
Had a great time touring the facility. It was nice to get the tour from someone who's in the business, not just a "tour guide" and had a love for what they do. Of course the shines and vodka were awesome to try samples of. Will definitely be going back...
Fantastic tour by Clay Cutler. Had a great time learning about the process of moonshining. The tasting was great as well. My first time to taste MoonShine, was nice to have different flavors. Although, I must admit the Gin was my favorite. Will definately go back for more visits. Karen SSpring Hill, Tn
Located in a beautiful area of middle Tennessee, the drive alone is a great experience. The distillery itself is fantastic, beautiful copper and glass and well maintained, looks very classic and polished. I enjoyed the tour and the tasting. I keep a couple of bottles of their Black Mule vodka on hand, looking forward to future visits and tasting their latest!
Went to TennSouth the afternoon of the morning we went to Jack Daniels/Lynchburg. Of course the scale or the history is not there, but the personal attention and education of the tour was really great. Not to mention the fine flavored Shines and some killer Vodka we sampled and brought home at a very reasonable price. I can't wait for the Clayton-James Whiskey release! The drive thru the Tennessee countryside in the spring and the stroll through the quaint Lynnville shops just punctuated the day. Will probably make this a perennial trek....
We recently stopped by when passing through the area. The distillery is located just a few minutes off 65 and very easy to get to. Unfortunately, they weren't distilling the day we were there, but Clay gave us an excellent tour and allowed us to sample all of their products, which were fantastic. It's good to see a small company using local ingredients to produce a quality product that is made in the USA. Looking forward to the release of their Clayton James Tennessee Whiskey - we will be back.
Set amidst classic rural Tennessee landscape, this distillery makes for a great stop! Enjoy the tour as you learn about the process from the well-informed chief distiller, who displays a real passion for his craft. Samples of the TennSouth products are part of the tour, and you will love these local flavors! Definitely worth a visit!
Great tour, hand-crafted MoonShine in several flavors....The whiskey is in the making, samples of Blackberry Shine, Apple Pie Shine, straight ole shine, Black Mule Vodka and Apathecary Gin.
