Beautifully restored theater. Seats are set at good angles for viewing. Staff seems well organized and accommodating.
The architectonic here is unbelievable. The acoustic is excellent too. Any concert here sounds amazing. The ceiling seems a wonderful night full of stars. I think is the most beatiful theather I had ever seen!
Place to eonjoy arts, showing playing, opera, even a place to have a showing work. Have parking lot around the area and very closest of tourist downtown area and port.
The Olympia has been beautifully restored and it is a beautiful theater. Have gone several times to see first run International movies and music shows, even though it is in the downtown area it is easy to get to and parking is close by

Just read some of the other reviews to see what makes it so importaint to Miami history. To be impressive today , one can only imagine what was thought on their first visit "back in the day" Dont miss it.
Thanks for your review of the Olympia Theater. We're glad you enjoyed Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor - what a great night and a fun crowd! We also offer valet service ($15) across the street at 145 E. Flagler St. - that's the max daily rate so you can arrive early, walk around, grab something to eat, and pick your car up after the show.Hope to see you again at the Olympia.
Maurice Gusman, the condom king, funded the rennovation of the Old Olympia Theater (now the Gusman Center on Flagler Street downtown) under the watchful eye of architect Morris Lapidus. Built in the 20's the theater is an excellent example of the architecture of the movie palaces of that era....billowing clouds and twinkling stars on the ceiling, a big boy working organ, moorish architecture and perfect sight lines and accoustics.Over the years the Gusman has hosted everything from ballet to rock n'roll. From Elvis to the Ukranian National Dance; from Barbara Cook to Harry Blackstone. The Gusman has undergone a second majore rennovation recently....bringing the A/C and electrical/plumbing up to date. The intimate 1800 seat facility with large lobbies both upstairs and down now serves promoters, civic organizations, charities, city functions and high school graduations.Any performance at Gusman is memorable.
Small and beautiful theater in downtown ,no parking though . Parking around downtown is expensive, and at night could be very desolate . Always be aware!
Tucked into Miami’s contemporary skyline is an enchanting Mediterranean courtyard with shimmering stars and golden balconies. Majestic turrets and towers suggest another era when performances were events, and grand theaters provided a dreamlike escape from the modern world. The Olympia Theater at Gusman Center is not just a “venue” – it’s is the jewel of South Florida arts and entertainment facilities, affording South Florida’s diverse community and its international guests a unique cultural experience that defies comparison.
You would never know that there was such a treasure hidden behind the contemporary façade of this building. Opened in 1926 as a silent movie palace it has been beautifully restores. It is spell binding with stunning Moorish architecture, perfect acoustics and a simulated night sky, complete with wafting clouds and twinkling stars. I just love any opportunity to visit it. Granted there are disadvantages no parking so use the MetroRail/mover. Night life in the area non existent. But if there is something being presented you want to see I heartily recommend going - it only enhances the performance.
