This was just brilliant! I went there for the daily free 2 pm tour (which normally requires a minimum of 5 people). Daniela (a bilingual guide) was more than happy to show me round on my own - was so enthusiastic and informative. It made for a truly memorable visit - loved the Botero room. I stayed on afterwards for 1.5 hours as she had inspired me so much! Thoroughly enjoyable.
This was my favourite thing that I did in Medellin. The admission in 10000cop. It is fairly easy to find from Botero plaza. Inside is a 3 level gallery/ museum with a whole range of works including many by Botero. Make sure you don't miss any rooms- especially on the bottom floor.
Nice botero exhibition. Unfortunately I got no audio guide even so the signs where on the information plagues. Could be more in English.
This museum is definitely worth visiting. Botero has donated much of his work to the city and as well as many of the other paintings in the museum by other artist. If you have kids, there are several interactive areas within the museum for kids to dress up and play. My son loved it. If you go during the week, it isnt very crowded. The building itself has a nice courtyard in the middle, a restaurant and souvenir shop.
Worth a visit just to see the Botero exhibit with amazing examples of the work of Colombia's grand master. Enjoy examples of his early work, to the grander works, paintings and of course his bronzes. Couple your trip with a walk around the square for more of his work. Take in the museum shop, and attached restaurant. Worth the trip!
Not up to Bogota Bolero museum and art gallery, nonetheless very good and interesting. Nice building.
This is a wonderful museum. Of course, the Boteros are fabulous but we also discovered other artists we did not know and absolutely loved. Everything about this place is well done and don't miss the gift shop, either.
I am now a fan of Botero. Very nice museum, more art than anything else, they should just call it an art museum unless I missed something. I'm glad I went and it's right in the plaza so easy in and out.
In front of the Plaza Botero where all his sculptures can be admired...seated at the museum's restaurant, which has outdoor seating where you can watch Medellin go by...
Such a setting ! The collection is presented so well space light and excellent collection the Botero's so perfect and respectfully presented also other jewels to be found . The only negative since my first visit is how the restaurant has descended into UGLY in everyway such a change from 8yrs ago Ghastly rude staff foul food etc. A shame for the rest has become world class including the buying and informed staff in the gift shop
